Used Rega Apollo R gets it done.  Better transport than player, but as a player solid enough.  Have owned several of them with no problems.  Currently run one through a Mojo Audio Mystiqué 3, Luxman 509X and ATC SCM 20 monitors and it's a really good system.  Challenging to find though.

check this one out, says it also plays dsd from usb input, so can feed a hard drive or stream into it correct?

Marantz, CD60, open box $740.

often open box gets full OEM warranty if your purchase is the initial sale date, not so if a return, but, some warrantys are transferrable, doesn't hurt to ask

always verify remote control is included

SACD/CD seller says lightly used, xlr and rca out

arcam cds50 sacd/cd $750.

SACD/CD also says lightly used

Marantz, Canada, $1,008 usd.

Like my turntable’s the cd player is collecting dust, that aside it’s great when I take the time to use it. A late model purchase Teac pd-H600 came with many reviews putting it at twice the msrp value, meaning better than many $2k+ units. They were right, in most categories it’s superlative.
Cheers

Used Bryston BCD-1. Bought one in 2012. Still use it as a digital transport. But the built in DAC is very good in it's own right.

I bought an emotiva ERC-4 bc it had a built in DAC for external use. solid well built great sound around 600$

Can you get a transport and use your current DAC? If so, Audiolab 6000CDT and Cambridge CXC v2 are very good budget transports.

In budget CD players I would look into Rotel, Marantz, may be a used Rega.

I have a Musical Fidelity M2SCD, which retails for US$ 1,099. I actually just use it for a transport and run it through a Denafrips Ares II DAC (along with my streamer). However, it still sounds very good with its internal DAC.

In the under $1,000 category, I would also check out the Marantz CD-6007 or the CD 60.
