Cartridge "upgrade" to Dynavector XV1T

I think the XV1T is brilliant with all the tone and dynamism styles that I want

I want an upgrade that has the same but more (not an alternative  "presentation")

Yes I know I should be satisfied ... and I am ... but ...... itchy ears that like to be scratched !

Have tried "buying to try" and not successfully in terms of finance and time and effort.

We originally started with a MSL Sig Gold and then tried the Sig Platinum, both outstanding cartridges. As @jperry stated the Gold is slightly warmer and in my opinion a bit more musical, the Platinum more neutral and closer to the performance on the LP (although who knows what that really is).

(Dealer disclaimer for MSL)

It sounds like you have a nice system.

I have a MSL Signature Platinum, but the Signature Gold is a little warmer, so either could be a good choice depending on your system and what you want for the sound.

MY Sonic Labs - presumably Signature platinum

Etsuro Gold

Interesting, thanks

will have a look

I have a Dynavector XT cart. I’ve owned 2 others.
Great carts.
My recommendation is to try the Etsuro Gold. It’s the best I’ve heard and own.
Enjoy the music.

You should try a MY Sonic Labs. A friend moved from your cartridge to a high end ZYX, then MSL. I also have a MSL. Great cartridge.

In spite of the phono stage, you should get acceptable performance from the XV1T.

You need an excellent SUT to bring out the best in cartridges. I had a ZYX Universe II X and always considered it an okay cartridge (using w ARC Ref 2SE phonostage).  However, when I got an EMIA Silver SUT, the ZYX turned out to be extra-ordinary - I couldn't believe how good it sounded.  Again, depends on your phonostage/system, but I now mostly use SUT's w low impedance carts.

@tatyana69 Triplanar arm

Thanks. Great arm, and I still stand by my suggestion to listen to Aidas Mammoth Gold Mk2.

That said people whose ears I am inclined to trust are going gaga for the top Glanz arms...possible that would also be interesting...

In the price range that you are shopping, do not ignore the copper coiled .24mv output ZYX Universe. Have seen some really good deals on these over the last year or so. Enjoy the music

Agon member hotei bought the ZYX 100 mc cartridge - $2K. His thread is here above. You might consider doing the same!

Since a cart has to have a great synergy with the tonearm and is dependent on the phono it would be useful if you mentioned both.

Based on your seller profile it seems you are a couple of hours from Z- Axis Audio. They are the UK rep for Aidas Cartridges Lithuania ( as am I for the USA ). I believe they have the Mammoth Gold MK2 on demo. This cart is VERY good and in ways that IMHO are in the trajectory of the XV-1T. Might be worth a trip to listen. Beats buying a top £ cart and being disappointed ;)
