So mature. Just burying the relevant posts with emoji garbage. Why don't you guys just start a new thread under misc audio titled something like "emoji wars"
Unlike the vast majority that have responded I am not a tourist and actually own the Inakustik cable below the 4004. I plan to buy the 4004 in the near future. I truly cant understand the dismissive attitudes of many regarding expensive cables and am shocked at the temerity of those that feel compelled to make comments on equipment which they have never heard. It seems that most of you feel that all expensive cables are created equal and that all manufacturers make the same absurd claims. I believe that many of you are worthy of the same intellectual contempt that most on this forum no doubt feel for consumers who believe a Bose Wave Radio is equal to a higher end 2 channel system. I think that this is a hobby that attracts consumers of above average intelligence which usually would mean that you wouldnt comment without experience and even more importantly wouldnt approach such topics with preconceived notions. Excellent 2 channel equipment is so much more than the some of its parts!
I would ordinarily be in favor of an emoji ban but only on condition of replacing emojis with the capability of directly posting images like photos and graphics, as opposed to links to images as currently provided. Otherwise, Iβm totally down for emoji wars. But can we at least make some attempt to keep them clean? People! π Iβm hopeful of updating my new iPad OS very soon soβs I can take advantage of the new emoji offerings. Be vigilant.
I suppose you could say entertaining such a purchase would be a nice problem to have. Β Personally, I'm just a few steps up from 12ga. lamp-cord. Β :-)
All I am saying there should be some type of testing to pick out the best cable for your system other than cool factor, price, and technical jargon. Perhaps ABX testing. If I spent 10k for cables, I would want to be able to correctly distinguish them from lower priced cables. However, I may be somewhat guilty of the same thing. I use Kimber 12tc speaker cables based on some of the tech specs. I have Salon 2's driven by Mc 601's. They are designed for somewhat higher current systems. Could I pick them out from the 8tc's? I know it was easy for me as long as I had my eyes open.
I recently had some work done. I had my stomach let out. I told my doctor I was tired of looking like a male model and wanted to look like an average person. Now Iβm thinking of maybe having some hair removed, too.
Β ramtubes Geoffkait: I live with a PhD economist too, a Harvard PhD. They donβt seem to understand that there is no Law of Diminishing Returns in high end audio. You see, when you can potentially double the performance of an audio system just by reversing the fuse or changing power cords the whole concept of diminishing returns goes out the window.
What about the concept of waisting your time?

cakyol, Car jumper cables are usually junk with a lot of aluminum in them. But, I recently wired a winch cable from the front of my truck back to my car trailer winch. That heavy high grade cable is super pricey, especially if it is pure copper. I was shocked.....but man my winch sounds good now. ;-)

I live with a PhD Economist, our mantra is marginal cost versus marginal gain. Β At what point on Any component of the system is the cost greater than the gain?
It is all measured by your own particular perspective, which can differ greatly.
When you buy these esoteric cables you are investing in the ultimate hearing pleasure, for you dog not you. You are not going to hear it,but woofer is over the moon:)
