The NAD M33 will cancel your complaints about Class D
Here is a quote from Bruno Putzey, creator of Hypex modules and Mola Mola in an interview with Sound & Vision.S&V: Generally speaking, what are the key benefits of Class D versus the traditional Class AB and Class A designs that have long ...
What are your experiences with upgrading power cords on KEF LS50 wireless?
No comment on cabling but on the last LS50W, several users noted improvements by adding an external DAC. This was despite the signal needing to go back to digital for DSP inside the speaker. My guess is that the additional gain fattened up the sou...
Relatively small speaker with a "big" performance: Role Audio Starship SE model
The devialet phantom speakers are small enough to be held in your hand yet they can do 20hz bass. So obviously these sampan speakers are not very good considering what the phantoms can do. Transmission lines are very impressive if we are talking c...
Do active speakers interest you? Also, let's talk directivity
11-09-2020 4:50amHave you ever seen an old school audiophile tapping his (her) feet?I believe they prefer the warm box colored sound because it makes a good sleep..(The warmth etc. should be in the recording, not the speaker.)Yes I have gosta. Tap...
Do active speakers interest you? Also, let's talk directivity
I think that audiophiles generally want a euphonic sound...adding depth and ambience to the master recording. Boxes and analog crossovers will do this. When you engineer to eliminate the box sound and create an active DSP speaker to control the dri...
Are there any bookshelf speakers that sound good on a bookshelf?

KEF LS50 Meta
I’m going off of memory but I believe the original LS50s have a bump around 12k that could be bright to those under the age of say 35.
KEF ls50 meta’s are on the way
The Wireless 2 are preorder for 11/30. Of course they will be better as the original wireless was quite a bit better than passive...even with a 20k front end. Having said that, the original wireless is becoming obsolete due to lack of software upd...
Am I too big of a jerk, even for audiogon?
I absolutely do, but I do so in part because I care about the environment in A’gon. Having thought provoking discussions about who we are, makers vs. buyers, scientists vs romantics helps keep the discussions from stagnating into advice for flea m...
Am I too big of a jerk, even for audiogon?
You definitely post for attention and to get a reaction out of people by being controversial and a bit polarizing at times....but I have never seen you be disrespectful or not thoughtful so I wouldn't call you a troll in the classic sense. P.S. Cl...
Buchardt A500, KEF LS50 Wireless, etc. What are your top 3 downsides?
When the cell phone apps stop being supported you have an obsolete product. Buchardt is a new company and very small so that is extra risk. Original LS50 wireless is not obsolete but is dated after 3 years and has a frustrating app. LS50 has no gr...
700.00 speakers new or used
JBL 530 is a great option. They won't fatigue you.
My list of seller red flags
Only used once."my dedicated audio room never came to fruition""liked them so much I moved up the line"
My list of seller red flags
This is more of a pet peeve, but sellers who claim the item is brand new in box never used...only opened to inspect and test and list the condition as new instead of mint. And then we have items with some pretty good scratches listed as a 7/10. Th...
