raising subwoofer off floor by 20 inches
Szutinglee, Have you tried moving your listing position and speakers a bit. Some times we locate them in a null or a node which results the the uneven response indicated by you equalizer settings. Some times not, its just the room dimensions. You ...

I just looked at your system. Your bass graph shows some fairly flat bass. Where is it crossed over? All I can see is an expected droop below 32hz and another droop up about 200hz. What am I missing. Are you trying to get more bass on the 25 to 32...

Sounds odd to me. Most sub's are designed to be on the floor. Raise it that far off the floor and you'll probably screw up the bass by creating a large suck out. Exactly whats your problem anyway. List your equipment, room dimensions, speaker loca...
Suddenly, things are sounding awful...
If you are trying to tame the highs, cross the axis of the speakers well in front of you and put something diffusive or absorbant on the wall between the windows. And, of course, put the drapes back down. That might well solve some of your problem...
Has anyone hearing to much digital information ?
ROTFLMAO! Lithojoe you're the man. What a fantastic way to support a 'rave'. I would never have thought of it.

Lithojoe, Why don't you take a moment and tell us about the actual Mods made to your SA14 by TRL, how much they cost and how the charges were broken down for labor and materiels. From your comments you appear to be well positioned to do so. I look...

Lousyreed, Re, "Perhaps thats not right"........It's not right. The room and speaker positioning in it has a far more dramatic effect on the sound than most folks recognize. Even some of the folks that do, still underestimate it. Life (for us that...

"Everything has been repositioned carefully". Does this mean that you put it in a new location, but carefully, or does this mean that you changed it back to the old position. If it's in a new location, no matter how carefully set up, its bound to ...
hard 's'
Re 'ssss' have you addressed proper set up issues, including damping 1st reflection points and speaker toe in (or not)? Re depth of image, do you have your speakers well aout into the room, or are they close to the wall?
Discography of Brahms, Piano concerto 1, op. 15
It's not complete in any sense, however an excellent collection of reviews of classical music can be found in "Third Ear" Classical Music, The Listeners Companion, edited by Alexander J Morin, and published by Backbeat Books. Over 1200 pages, incl...
Tyler House Sound
I have the Linbrook Signature Systems (1Piece). They are presently powered by a 40 wt tube amp - more than enuf IMHO. I can't fault your description of their sound, but they are very transparent and will easily reflect your choice of amps, pre-amp...
Does anyone like vintage speakers?
Fishboat, I think that the quality of the drivers (especially tweeters) used in speakers has improved quite a bit since the 70's and 80's. Properly implemented these drivers can provide resolution and transparency in dynamic speakers that was only...
noise thru tube pre??
If you must put tube equipment in the same end of the room as the speakers usually you can put it in the center of the space between the speakers. Just put on some bass heavy music and move about finding the location where the bass response is min...
Does anyone like vintage speakers?
Fishboat, When/if you or Mechans define what is a vintage speaker, or when the golden age of audio occurred, I would be better able to comment. When I think of vintage, I think of products from the 50's and 60's. Being a lot younger than I (if you...
noise thru tube pre??
