Aurios MIB Pro's - Set-up tips.
At the risk of recommending something more expensive than you wanted to hear about, I use Signal Guard II isolation platters, which are terrific themselves, under each component with the four spiked feet of each platter resting in a Pro to each fo...
Review: Purist Audio Design Proteus Interconnect
Thought I'd add a word to this Purist lovefeast. They're wonderful cables, and with the exception of the tonearm cable, which is a Proteus because of the weight of Dominus, my entire system is done in Dominus Ic's, both analogue and digital. BUT, ...
XLR/RCA
Don't special terminate the cables, you'll regret it later. BAT, Purist, Cardas and Rowland all have excellent adaptors.
Polycrystal Stand Under Speakers : does it work?
No, but if you are using speakers as good as the Eclipses and they are spiked , you might consider 4 Aurios Pros under each speaker, with the spikes resting in the Pros. I have my Eggleston Andras floated that way, and the difference in clarity is...
Would you cancel 3,250 deal cause 16 short?
I had the very same thing happen--on a $1000 sale I had the bank take out $16 for a wire transfer charge. I forgot about it, and sent the cable. He is a jerk. Life is too short for this nonsense.
Are Nordost really the Rolls Royce of cables?
It's foolish to hype any one manufacturer's cables as the "Rolls Royce" of anything. I use Purist Dominus in my system, which is a very expensive cable, and love it, but that is as much or more a function of the way Dominus interacts with the spec...
How much better are the Classic 45 rpm vs 33 LPs?
Some of the 45's are amazing--Reiner's Scheherezade, Kondrashin's Capriccio Italien and Espagnole, Reiner's Zarathustra, Gibson's Gounod etc. record, maybe the Reiner Respighi, although it's a bit bright, the Mercury Firebird, Chabrier, Prokofiev-...
Is it worth it to buy the Cable Cooker?
Yes. Couldn't be without it. I didn't make a cable change for over a year, and then two in two months. A day on the Cooker, and it was done.
Review: Aurios Media Isolation Bearings Pro
I've used the Pros for over a year, and think they're great. But I don't use them the way the manufacturer suggests, in threes directly under the components, which seems to me to roll off the highs. I put one Pro under each of the four speaker spi...

Any problems selling equipment outside of USA?
I've done it several times, but the only way I've done it is to ask for a funds wire transfer to my bank account for the agreed-upon amount before shipping. The first time worked perfectly (Hong Kong) and the second was going beautifully until Fed...
Manners, Eticks & Audiogon --- What do you think???
Well, let's not just beat up on sellers. I have two ads on now. On those two ads, I have received four responses--two offers to buy at the posted price if I would tell them what the shipping was, then no response; one "buyer" who wrote to tell me ...
Audiodharma Cable Cooker anyone share experiences?
I have had one since the beginning of the year and would never buy a new pair of cables without one any more. One day on the cable cooker beats hundreds of hours of breakin.
A/B test of interconnects - Will this work???
Unfortunately, the better your system, the more the presence of the Y-connector will affect the sound of both pairs of interconnects, and not necessarily precisely in the same way. Why not?--the cable differences can be heard, can't they?
Spy Game DVD on Toshiba SD-9000 Question
I had this happen with the DVD's of Amadeus on a Toshiba player. You have to find the introduction page of the DVD and figure out what entry listed turns the subtitles off. Of course, it doesn't say that that's what it does; you just have to figur...
