phono stage options for Lyra Cartridges
Sdrenslow makes a good point here. I forgot. I used BAT phono stages for years a VK P5, P10, and P10SE.They all match up very well with Lyra's. At the time I used a Lyra Lydian Beta or Lyra Helicon with the BATs.
phono stage options for Lyra Cartridges
Hi I am using a Lyra Skala and a Nagra VPS/VFS. Wonderful I'll absolutely 2nd from the poster above. For less money, I suspect the Nagra BPS is a killer option to consider.
Has anyone used a pair BAT VK-55 as mono blocs
Hi, I did this with a VK75SE, so got a second and ran as 150SE's. It's not just power, they sounded better. Better extension, better soundstage, much more quiet. Plus the power can always help. If more tubes and the heat don't bother you, and you ...
The Best Phono cable
Here's a 3rd for the Purist. I have the Purist Proteus Provectus. Previously had the Purist Venastas, Hovland MG2 and Graham IC 50.Both of the Purist's are great. The Proteus is simply stunning.

TriPlanar Tips
Dougdeacon:So in a moment of haste, I popped off the c-ring, took off the anti skate entirely and the little "string".You're right. Similar as the trough, but more subtle. I don't seem to miss the antiskate...I do like the added quietness. I may g...
SME V vs 309 Sonic Differences
Hi, I would not call the IV.Vi a "stripped down" V (and the IV.Vi has the damping trough)The only differnce between the IV.Vi and V is the internal arm cabling. IV.Vi using magnan copper ribbon vs the V's van den hul silver. Some (like me) prefer ...
Wilson Maxx 2 Biamping?
Carlesdg: you and your friend are nuts for running the Maxx 2 with two amps. You'll completely mess up evertything in the sound. Which, btw, they are among the best speakers anywhere. And void the warranty. If you have a bass response issue with a ...
SME V vs 309 Sonic Differences
I wouldn't worry about any rumors on the sound of SME arms. They are right there at the top and the right cartridge can get a wonderful pairing.Stereophile, in their review of the SME 10 table did a comparison between the 309 and the IV.Vi. That s...
Does the WATT/Puppy 8 image as well as the 7?
Hi, I am not sure I agree that their isn't improvement in the 7's and 8's vs the 6's. I owned 6's and 8's. I will say they are each super speakers on their own, but all a lil different. Which is best is really up to you. I liked the 8's better, mo...
