Brentworth Type III
The Brentworth Type III was savaged by Art Dudley in Listener a few years ago. Haven't heard it myself, but can't remember a more damning review. You might want to check it out.

Flex, read the posts again (Mt 10425).
Purist Audio & Stereophile
There are a zillion other cable manufacturers not mentioned in Stereophile either. So what?
would you bother?
With vinyl, you won't WANT to FF and skip to the next track. And even if you do, it's a small price to pay.
Will Magnetic Tape Eventually Go Full Circle
Buscis2, vinyl is a LOT more convenient than R-R tape. To play the second "side," you have to run the tape all the way through. To find a specific track anywhere on the tape, good luck. If you're not prepared to sit through both sides of the tape ...
Will Magnetic Tape Eventually Go Full Circle
Some relevant factoids (specific to reel-to-reel rather than cassette):* On the Yahoo reeltoreel forum, someone is floating the query/concept of producing a new reel-to-reel deck, and getting positive responses.* I've bought at least 30 prerecorde...
Too many tubed components in the system?
Every added tubed component is one fewer SS component. How can that be bad?
Any tips on jazz guitar trios or quartets?
To the above, I would add Gene Bertoncini, Ralph Towner, Russell Malone, Stanley Jordan and Mark Whitfield.
mapleshade
What makes you think it's Mapleshade selling those $500 knobs?
Best way to clean records
Audio Advisor sells the Record Doctor, not the Disc Doctor, which is a whole other thing. Just picked up a used Record Doctor here in Agon. I'll be happy if it lasts half as long as the Nitty Gritty I that I bought in l984!
What Cart. for a Infinity Black widow
Hi. The name is Dave Pogue, but that was taken here at Audiogon, so I'm stuck with initials. Haven't you changed the frame of reference here. Rwwear? I thought the comparison was simply between a new top-line Shure (which you called "mechanical") ...
My vote for Tweak of the Week
Yes, that certainly does sound like a high-value tweak. We'd better hurry before the inevitable price rise occasioned by the flurry of orders the manufacturer can now expect.
What Cart. for a Infinity Black widow
Rwwear, believe it. If a Shure V15xMR sounds "mechanical" in your system, I wouldn't blame the cart.
Is my 1988 Nakamichi OMS-1 worth repairing?
IMO, there is no 1988 CD player worth repairing.
Do You Remember Your First CD Player?
A Sylvania-branded 2040, which of course is really a Magnavox, which of course is really a Philips. By whatever name it was barely listenable, and yet better than others of the same vintage. Truly the Dark Ages of audio.
