Has Your Hobby Changed?
Mine changed dramatically when I bought a streamer and   subscribed to Qobuz. I use it more than the turntable and CD player and FM tuner combined. I've discovered so much great music and am always searching for the next great thing.  Retirement d...

Eisa award winner Musical Fidelity for $2199 will be a little warmer and easy on the ears.
I can't go for that.
I sorta brushed Daryl aside when he was uber popular back then, but after watching a few episodes of Daryl's house, then went back and streamed a few of his albums of old and realized what I missed.  Heart and soul, baby!

Now I am worried about these "Coronal holes".  Hope I don't fall into one.  Only Cornholio could survive.

45 Singles You Just Had to Buy
1st 45 I bought was 'I'm Henry the eighth I am'. I was 11 or 12.  Best value for a kid goes to 'Paperback writer'  because the flip side was 'Rain'.  One Lennon and one McCartney.  Wow for a 13 yr old.
Lumin U2 mini vs Mac laptop sound test
The biggest difference would be switching DACs.  And they are BIG! And a lot of them have settings for different filters.  Without naming DACs,  #1 dac was very accurate but a little on the sterile side.  Dac #2 had more bloom with a much more pow...
Advice on how to liquidate system
You are getting good advice here.  Don't sell and don't give up.  I lost my hearing for 2 or 3 days at a very loud rock concert. It eventually came back with some tinnitus that, some days I can mentally block it out and other days I cannot.  No cu...
There's No Question
My Magnaplanars work very nicely with a sealed-box sub, servo controlled for quickness.  They did not work well at all with a passive radiator design. I cringe just thinking of that.
Any Thoughts?
Why do they call it Ovaltine?  It's in a round jar.
Listening to music with loud feedback as a tinnitus sufferer
I am blaming my tinnitus on too many rock concerts and bars with live music.  Mostly it is in the background, but will be brought to my attention by loud music.  So mostly I listen at lower volume and enjoy it more.
the big one: how do you choose speakers? By what features, data?
Go to an audio show.  So many speakers to see, and listen to.Believe me, it is worth it.
Tim Bachman of BTO passed at 71
Being in a rock band never was good for you health.  Touring and such.  Think about all the guys who died around age70.  Allman, Lou Reed, many others.
amp upgrade
Lots of good advice here.another would be to switch out the optical cable for a digital coax.  Optical is good for video, not so good for audio purity.
