Jazz for aficionados
I didn't star listening to jazz until the late seventies.  Most of the players from earlier times did not ever become my favorites.  Some of my most played Jazz were Weather report's Heavy Weather,  Tom Scott & LA Express'  Tom Cat, Earl Klugh...
Tube Preamp: How many tubes does it take to .................
@elliotb.  That looks like a vintage Marantz.  Is that from the sixties?
MM or MI Cartridge?
Dinov is right.  Since the output is somewhere in between an MC and a MM, you will have to experiment with your phono preamp setting.  Mine only had 2 settings, MM and MC.  One sounded fat, the other was weak.
Magnepan owners. Fuses or what
Thanks, guys, for the advice.  I am likely to try these.  Makes perfect sense.  Non interfered with flow of current.
Why is solid state more popular when tubes are better?
I suggest Y'all listen to the Beatles song "We can work it out", just once.
The Snob Appeal Premium
@yesiamapirate,  if everything sounds similar, it is probably you listening room.  If not, just stick with some cheap speakers, you'll be just as happy.
Digital front end upgrade options

Magnapan LRS+ VS .7
I agree with y'all.  You need more room for Bigger Maggies.
Moving again...system finally complete...back to starting over
This would be one reason for staying in the place I am in.  Moving is one thing.  Moving to a place and then having to find a decent listening room would be another.
Best Receiver?
I bought a Kenwood 45 watt receiver in 1976,played it regularly till 1995 and gave it to my son and he still uses it and it always sounds great.  They don't make 'em like that anymore.  Wood sides, discreet power supplies and all that.
Am I defective?
Watch the video of the first U.S. Beatles concert [Shea Stadium I think] and you will see a lot of teenage girls crying and screaming.  Pure emotion.
Burn in vs perception
Most of my speakers and electronics sounded good right out of the box, And any break-in was hardly noticeable.  That being said, some brands of wires can take an eternity to sound right. I bought a mid tier Analysis Plus interconnect that I almost...
Acoustic Sounds site is down.....
The 100 watt amp they are selling is now 50 watts.
