Tired of all the gimmicky pricing, i.e. $999.99 or $927 It's even worse when they part their hair on the wrong side
when did it all get so complicated? @reubent Thanks for your question and response. FWIW, your question has spurred me on to compose a post to try which tries to describe my problems and hopefully get some help. I'll post it soon
when did it all get so complicated? @reubent Are you referring to streaming your NAS based files on an PRI based system with Volumio, or a BlueSound Node? Or some other hardware and OS No. I have a Teac NT-505. It sounds very good when I can get it to work. The problem as I see...
Which would you recommend? Thanks @ghdprentice. After being here and Audio Asylum for 21 yrs I'm feeling somewhat lost or out of place. I have been looking for a new hangout. I'll check out AA
when did it all get so complicated? Anyway, it’s not that complicated. It may not be complicated to stream Qubuz, etc. They have all the software bugs worked out. However, trying to get music to play over the network to my streamer/player is among the biggest PITA I have ever enc...
System bias I have seen the swing from speakers in the 60, 70’s They tried to cater to the mid range and treble and turn down the bass because a bass which is turned down tends to have a better clarity. So with the came speakers which didn’t extend well into...
System bias I’m not so sure. If your a devotee of rock, is the system you put together going to excel in classical as well, or jazz, or folk or country etc. Nice question. I’ve kind of wondered about this at times. I think the better question is , "Does th...
Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away. Any thoughts why he is not in the rock and roll hall of fame? Didn’t grease the right palms I guess. Grand Funk Railroad isn’t either even though the were top concert drawers and record sales late 60’s early 70’s
Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away. If the fake news tells me the sky is blue, I go outside and look. Besides, people who have taken the vaccine die also, many from the vaccine. So maybe we can dispute covid & the vaccine now. No need to allow a man to RIP when we can throw som...
Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away. Paradise by the Dashboard Lights is a great song with great lyrics. After being together for 47 yrs, when my wife starts to get on my last nerve, I sometimes sing, "And Now I'm Waiting For the End Of Time" She understands cause its a favorite song...
A better way to stream I'd settle for a simpler way to stream which is easy to operate and doesn't rely on a network or at least very little reliance upon it. If your idea will do that then I'm all for it. But it seems to add more complication rather than ease of use
Am I a hopeless audio snob? I too would look at the VPI very closely. I've had 2 or 3 of them and was quite satisfied with the sound & service
Upgraded McCormack DNA-1 or Dennis Had Inspire SEP? If you are going to keep the Cornwalls, then the DH low wattage tube amp is the route. Highly efficient speakers like yours @ 102 db sensitivity like low power. Its not about which amp is best. They both have their place. The DH tubes belong in y...
What direction should I go As one who just got into streaming about 9 months ago, my advice is to get a player/server which has the hard drives built in. IOW a straight path from music to player. This should remove one of the network handshakes which is the biggest problem ...
Honesty is the best policy...I think. @oldhvymec has made the edit for the ad to sell. It's not a big deal for anyone who understands that computers are in a lot of products and need to be reset. |
