Your ONE all time favorite love song?

For me it's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack, from her CD "Softly with These Songs, the Best of Roberta Flack", on Atlantic. I'm looking for LOVE SONGS. Thanks and Cheers. Craig

I can't get started with you, played by "Bunny Berigan and his orchestra". Brings back memories of an only true love in my life now gone.
"love stinks" by The J. Geils Band, played from a vinyl super disc. at very high volume!
Cannot name just one, here are some of the Best!!!
Something-The Beatles,(George singing about Patti Boyd only to have her stolen later by Eric Clapton)
All my love-Led Zeppelin.(Lp-In through the Out door)
This Guy's in Love with you-Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass.
"I'm Not In Love" by 10CC is the song I would choose. You'd think by the title that this is not a love song but it is. Eric Stewart and the boys say they're not in love but they are! Denial is so hard to admit! The female whispered line "Be quiet, big boys don't cry.." puts the song into perspective. Let's just say this song hits home. Anybody have a tissue?

"How many more times" by the mighty Led Zeppelin
Poor quality, cover song, but the chemistry.
june tabor's version of "waltzing's for dreamers". it sorta melts in following this incredible string piece. closes with the string piece too. so sad and pretty.
I don't see how any lover of music can have ONE favorate song. It's like, "Who's your favorate child?".
You stole my wife, you horse theif you. If my marriage is on the rocks then I'm drinkin' doubles.
Upon further reflection,(and a recent listening again after a long spell without hearing them)I would have to declare a 3 way tie, imho. The other 2 would be Forever Autumn, and Bless the Wings, both Moody Blues pieces.
lyrics and music both,it has to be Streisand's recording from 'Phantom of the Opera,'All I ask'.
Roberta Flack does a nice job on her "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" cover.
"Will You Love Me Tomorrow", written by Carole King as sung by The Shirelles (although Carole King also does a nice job on Tapestry).
ummm - We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off to Have a Good Time - Jermaine Stewart! LOL!!!
"Like A Child Again" words by Wayne Hussey, music by Craig Adams/Mick Brown/Wayne Hussey. (The Mission UK, lineup of 1991).
A lot of good songs mentioned in this thread, some bringing back some really great old memories...
I am just finishing reading "Shout" right now, so I am especially partial to the Beatles choices named...

But I want to mention possibly the most underrated super group of all time - Dire Straits - Mark Knopfler is a stunning musician as well as songwriter.
My vote - "Hand in Hand" from the Making Movies album...if you don't remember it, check it out, the words are great and the song is stunning, still gets me choked up virtually every time I listen to it...
I liked all of the Neil Young selections and the Lenny Welch (Since I Fell For You) is really outstanding. As far as love songs go, I think we are all influenced by the music that corresponded to some of our significant life events. For me, that takes me back to the '60's so I nominate two by the Righteous Brothers: "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" and "You're My Soul and My Life's Inspiration.
Three by Sir Paul,

Yesterday
Let it be
Maybe I'm Amazed

And one by Sir Elton John

Your Song
Add "Inside The Arms" by Don Dixon/Marti Jones, "Bee's Wing" by Richard Thompson and, of a different sort, "Vincent" by Don Mc Lean to the list.
(I'll) Love You Forever by The Monkees. It is on their 1987 reunion album "Pool It!" My wife & I got married to this song back in '92. If you haven't heard it, you should give it a listen. It is a beautiful song.
Lots of good ones already posted. Picking only ONE is impossible but I'd have to give strong consideration to those from the Doo Wop era, when many of the greatest love songs were recorded, including, without limitation:

I Only Have Eyes For You (The Flamingos)
For Your Precious Love (Jerry Butler)
Let It Be Me (Betty Everett & Jerry Butler)
Only You (The Platters)
When A Man Loves A Woman (Percy Sledge)

Not from that era, but have to include Crazy Love (Van Morrison) and Ribbon In The Sky (Stevie Wonder).

Oh, and almost every song performed by Nat King Cole.
Autumn Leaves

BTW regarding a previous post "Angel Baby" was recorded by Rosie and the Originals not Ruby and the Romantics
