Shanling CDT 100 - considering adding a DAC
Lots of compelling reasons to sell the Shanling and move up to a dedicated transport and DAC. The Denon 3910 I have says that it has a really good DAC already, but I'm sure that is just the manufacturer talking. Also, what improvement does the DAC...
Shanling CDT 100 - considering adding a DAC
Thanks for the info. I do have a Denon 3910, that may pair well with a DAC and perhaps better than with the Shanling. I am wanting a noticible improvement right now, but don't want to dish out $5K for a DAC and transport if I can get away with it....
Anyone into GOMEZ?
I've got a fantasic track from 808 State featuring Gomez - Ultramarine!!! Not the regular one that you've heard. I ripped it off of cable radio back in like '97 - phenominal!!!
Your ONE all time favorite love song?
ummm - We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off to Have a Good Time - Jermaine Stewart! LOL!!!
Best female vocals on CD
My nomination is Kirsty Hawkshaw - tracks under her name, with BT, with Opus - she has a fantastic voice!
Are your kids into audio?
My kids are young - 5, 7, both boys - thankfully, but they are more interested in gaming and hit list music when listening to the radio. I liken hi-fi adoption as I would think of (when you are young) getting into history, museums, and even Religi...
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
1: What do you drive (daily & weekends)?2: What might you be driving in the future?3: What would you drive if $$$ was no object (pick 2 ;-)? Answers:1) Jeep Grand Cherokee (tricked out - of course)2) Aston Martin DB-73) Saleen, Ferrari Enzo, P...
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
Alex Lifeson (because of guitar and fisticuffs), Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Clapton, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan - in no particuar order - what about Prince? What an innovator...
Two Questions...
Check out Anthony Gallo Acoustics speakers for a full range of colors and finishes that please the eyes as well as the ears! Bose produces an adequate product, but for the money, you can do much better, my friend...
Car Audio
Ha, ha - well put Cwlondon and yes, I could use a vacation to be sure. And so could you as well, but today's car audio innovations are lackluster at best and disappointing!I owned a "Fast and Furious" aftermarket car parts business for awhile on t...
Car Audio
You guys/gals raise good points and yes, road noise, spatial effects, et al, notwithstanding, car audio will not and perhaps never WILL approach that ephemeral pinnacle that a dedicated home setup with a dedicated listening space can accomplish, a...
Anthony Gallo Micro Ti or Adiva Ti for music?
I've recently (w/in 3 months) purchased 5 A'diva Ti's w/a TR-1 sub (stainless steel units, black sub). Beautiful sound and blows away any Bose systems I've heard. They get better after about 200 hours of play. Can really be pumped up w/o too much ...
Can anyone suggest a good 2-channel amp for $1500
Do you think that going for less than the max wattage for the speakers (100 wpc) will result in less sound quality than the speakers are capable of producing? I don't want to go too crazy and overdo it and blow out the speakers - that being said, ...
Can anyone suggest a good 2-channel amp for $1500
So, should your WPC recommendation on speakers match the amp's RMS power?
Can anyone suggest a good 2-channel amp for $1500
I keep hearing Bryston, so I will have to look into this. Why are there so many more high-end Canadian units out there that we never hear about in the US? Perhaps it's a US-Centristic plot to hold out on great audio... Hmmmmm...
