AYRE voices their PC after Cardas. It appears pretty plain in presentation.

Happy Listening!

is the Ayre stock pc a typical standard issue cable? Or is it a custom made item for the cx7?

i thought it was just a typical standard issue cord?

you could always send an email to ayre and ask them?

jafant,

can never understand why members will start a thread ( such as this one ) and they want a comparison of said power cords.

then you find out after the OP replies that they have all 4 already and then got to try them out on different equipment and made their own decision on what sounded good where.

why not just do this in the first place instead of starting a new thread ?

I have 3 BMI Oceanic Statement cables which are absolutely superb for DACs, Pre-Amps and whatever front end you're using. No good at all for power amps.

I've had these cables for around 12 years and nothing else so far has come close.

I don't believe they are available new anymore but I highly recommend any BMI cable the Hammerhead was a bargain.

Nice power cord(s) comparison. The AYRE cx7emp is good enough to use its stock PC.  I am looking forward in reading more updates. Have fun!

I’m currently demoing all 4 cables. Here are my findings thus far: Started off with û powerchords on both a levinson 383 Integrated and cambridge 851c. Swapped out the powerchord for the jps labs digital ac on the 851c. This really opened up the 851. Sound was fuller, more open with more detail. An improvement all around. Picked up an ayre cx7emp as I wanted to compare it to the 851c. More on this later. After adding the jps digital, I added the jps power ac to the levinson. This further opened things up, and allowed more bass detail and impact. Overall, similar in response to the digital, just not as much on the levinson. I then decided to A/B test the cd players in real time using the same generic interconnects, power cords and test discs I had burned. Both players sounded very good, but the ayre was considerably more open and airy. It was fuller, more musical and had that “live” sense as indicated in the stereophile article. Otherwise, both had excellent range, extension and dynamics and punch. After implementing the ayre into the system, the jps digital didn’t sound as good with the ayre as it did on the 851. The digital ac seemed to bloat the lower mid bass region, and gave an overall overly full sound. The powerchord though on the ayre was much better and gave a sweet and balanced sound. I thought this pairing was the match—until I tried the other cables. Having recently sold the 851c, I decided to swap out the other powerchord on the levinson and add the whale elite. So as of right now, I have the whale elite on the levinson 383 and the jps power ac on the ayre cx7emp. I’ll add more updates soon. This pairing does sound good indeed. I’m curious to swap cables (whale on ayre / jps power ac back on levinson) and see if there is any difference.

I respectfully recommend van den Hul Mainsstream for amps and subs and Mainservers for sources.

Noticed that too, he doesn't like power conditioners or cd player tweaks either. All very useful info, don't you think?  🙄

For what it's worth, Audio Envy O'nestian XLR had more sonic weight and wider soundstage than the AQ carbon 48 I2s connection.

Not bad!

the audience are OCC single Crystal cables, OCC has been shown to be far superior to anything ofc out there.

I have a JPS power cord. I purchased it when evaluating a number of cords of their time. I chose it for my phono-stage because it took away the last bit of high frequency hash from the treble. I would recommend it for low current applications… a DAC, or Phono stage. I would not recommend with an amp.

Been using the "original" Whale(s) since 2021 (Brian said I wasn't cool enough to purchase the "Elites", and I concurred).

Big sound (detailed, but smooth).

Currently only use one on my CD deck (Absolute PC on the preamp and my mono blocks have captured cords).

I'll be trying one on a Sharp SD-EX111 mini system in the next few days (setting up a spare room system for my wife to use while on the computer).

Guess I could compare it to the OEM cord, but I probably won't as it would involve too much crawling around.

Lots of BMI info contained in the forum.

I'm using the PowerChord e for many years now on various digital, though it's good on everything

@jsbach1685 ,

Audience just introduced a F5 power cord.

I’m going to order one when I can and compare it to the F3’s I already have.

All the best.
