Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

The Pretenders - Learning to Crawl (hybrid SACD)

Miles Davis - ‘Round About Midnight (SACD)

Not Alone / Various artists

This is a 5 CD box set of indie "rock". It's different but very good.

Avishai Cohen / Yonathan Avishai  ---  Playing The Room  (Modern Creative / Avant-Garde Jazz)

I used to listen to UFO with an old friend of mine but not lately. Today I listened to the David Crosby, 50th Anniversary Rhino reissue ‘If I Could Only Remember My Name’

Jay Munly & The Lee Lewis Harlots – S/T  (Alternative Tentacles 2004)

Jay Munly – Jimmy Carter Syndrome (Smooch 2002)

Seven Pillars by Andy Akiho and Sandbox Percussion

Even if you don't like contemporary/experimental classical/jazz this album, and particularly the first track, sounds amazing with incredible soundstage, placement, detail, and separation with remarkable highs and bass. If it doesn't sound great on your system it might be time to think about upgrading something! https://open.qobuz.com/track/130093490

Nirvana, “In Utero”

Candlebox, “Candlebox”

Live, “Throwing Copper”

Emmylou Harris and the Nash Ramblers: Ramble in Music City.

"Lost" live album released in Sept., I just discovered this AM. Nice performance, and based on my office system at least, a nice recording.

@pinwa same here. I hadn’t listened to that group in 20 years. Still fantastic music. I never understood why they weren’t more popular.

@femoore12  I had completely forgotten about Penguin Cafe Orchestra even though it was a favorite from my younger days.  I'm looking forward to listening to them again.

Steely Dan, “Northeast Corridor (live)”

Nick Mason, Live At The Roundhouse”.   My go to music this year.

David Torn --- The David Torn Collection (Guitar Jazz / Experimental Fusion)

👍 @david_ten The Live record is fantastic on vinyl. Made me so happy though when ECM allowed their catalogs onto the services. Either way it’s a record that sounds to me like where it’s at. If anyone is discussing where Jazz is lately or where it’s going I point to that record. Several times I’ve heard live contemporary jazz performers playing charts they say are originals but they sound like they’re either right off either a Marcin or Shai Maestro record.

@spiritofradio  James, I have 3 of Marcin Wasilewski's albums in my library. I'll give "Live" a listen later tonight. - David.

@spiritofradio

Thanks!
I’ve never heard of Plini, but what I am hearing on the Impulse Voices album sounds fantastic. It’s always a great day when I get to hear new music for the first time. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

@femoore12 , hey there +1 on both Hem and on Toundra IV.

you seem to have taste in music that resonates with me.  Very cool.

do you know the music of Plini?

Hello David, @david_ten , +1 on Marcin Wasilewski.  Have you heard his fairly recent live album on ECM? I’ve been recommending it often.

John Coltrane, “A Love Supreme”   SACD

“Pictures At An Exhibition”,  RCA Living Stereo SACD

@n80  Wonderful stuff, indeed. Playing Christmas music from Tidal and Qobuz curated playlists for the kiddo.

Handel's Messiah, Emmanuelle Haim, Qobuz......the whole thing this morning before Lessons and Carols at church.

Wonderful stuff loud.
