Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

reubentI played a few numbers from the Hot Tuna 5-cd set, 'In A Can'Happy Listening!
Scotty Bratcher Band... In 2004, at just 17, when he released his 1st album. Self taught, blues rock, and a great talent. 3 album releases, but his 1st is, imo, amazing. Enjoy ! MrD.
Chicago Transit Authority.  Self titled.  1st album when rock meets big brass!

Neil Young.   “Tonight’s the Night”.   Live at the Roxy.  A must have for NY fans and fans of that classic album.  Sonics and  performance 10 albums!
@pops,

Transit Authority is one of my all time favorites!

Just got in Neil Young and Bluenote Cafe' 4lp/box.
Neil Young.  Hawks and Doves.

Canned Heat.  Live in Europe.

@slaw. Have to check that NY out.  I counted today 44 albums I have by my man!  Most by one artist in my vinyl collection.
B.B. KING With Eric Clapton. "Riding with King" Some if the best recording I have ever heard. Unbelievable imaging.
An oldie but a goodie

Made In Japan... Deep Purple

Original vinyl from the UK! Must have owned this for 40 plus years!
@pops

Funny, that's why I quit buying his stuff for years because he is so prolific...I had to keep room for other artists.

...........................................................................................................

Porcupine Tree  "In Absentia" (lp)
Paradise Theater.... Styx!

Saw them live on this tour in England many many moons ago.....
They opened with Rockin the Paradise and those were the days when concerts believed the bigger the amp stacks the better.
It was LOUD!
Here's one I heard for the first time today on a local college radio station I thought many here might enjoy...

Devon Allman "Midnight Lake Michigan"
@slaw
I have in through the outdoor on a Venezuelan release
And the sq is terrible tbh.

How is your copy?
@uberwaltz

Mine is the domestic release. It may be a record club issue, I’ll have to look.

It sounds FANTASTIC. Interestingly, I was not a fan when this lp came out. Boy, was I ever wrong!

.........................................................................................

I’m being mesmerized by Modest Mouse "This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About". (lp)

I've cleaned the Neil Young & Bluenote Café" 4lp/box. It's up next.

@uberwaltz

I have a rule of thumb on lp buying.... never buy a lp from a 3rd world type country.

BTW: The Neil Young is AWESOME.
@slaw

Yea, you could be right on the origin country, I have a few other albums from south America that are not so hot either.
May have to look for domestic then of in through the out door as I loved it since it first came out.

Was thinking of some Neil Young later, Tidal has some fresh MQA titles
France isn't a 3rd world country.... I stay away from their pressings as well.
I think only the French themselves would agree with that statement Slaw.
I cannot think of one saving grace for France from my experience!
Apologies to any French descendants reading this...lol
Nirvana, "Unplugged"
Flim & The BB's- "Tricycle
Flim & The BB's-  "Tunnel"
The Mamas & the Papas- "Greatest Hits"
Johnny Cash-"Folsom Prison"
The Cult- "Greatest Hits"

Now I am tired and desperately need a nap!
Another +vote for;CTA - s/tNeil Young - Live Roxy "Tonight's the Night"Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes - Live at the GreekHappy Listening!
Most of those Unplugged CDs are sonically great. What did those people who recorded them know that nobody else seems to know?
geoffkaitmost of those Unplugged sessions took place in the same venue. No doubt that the venue's acoustic space is excellent as well as microphone (s) selection to record all of those musical programs.I still want the Don Henley and L.L. Cool J shows on CD.Happy Listening!
Stevie Nicks  "Crystal Visions"  dbl/lp (half-speed) mastered by Stan Ricker
The Black Crowes - "Show Me" (with Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi) - rockin' out!

Wow, I had forgotten that Stevie Nicks did a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Rock n Roll"...….sweet!
And I just have to keep the Purple flow going.
Malice in Wonderland... Paice, Ashton and Lord.

Pity they only made the one studio album!
@uberwaltz

Interesting that only a few weeks from your purchase of the Goldnote Phono Stage that you started a streaming thread???

How's the Goldnote working out? Any regrets?

Just wondering. Not bashing.

I listened to FM HD radio for 6 hours today on the main rig.  It was a wide assortment of Rock.
Selling England by the Pound (Genesis) — great start to the long weekend!
@slaw

No big secret or conspiracy.

If you see my system you will see I have EVERY base covered apart from reel to reel.(and I keep looking at those darn things too!)

I post on here anything I play from any media.

Looking over the threads as I state in my opening on my streaming thread, I saw media specific threads for tt and cdp and thought in today’s high tech media world that one for streaming had a place. If it fizzles out then you will know I was wrong....

I LOVE the different aspects of different media and accept their differences. I do not and will never expect or try to make digital sound like analog and vice versa. They all have their unique sq and it all depends what mood I am in as to which I go for at any given time.
Simple as that.

After a long bad day sometimes I just cannot be bothered with flipping vinyl, sorry to say.
Also the extra music I have uncovered with tidal and deezer is fascinating to say the least.

And the ph10 is a really nice piece that I am still exploring on curves and loading.

Hope that helps to clarify.
J Geils Band "Blow Your Face Out" (lp)

Counting Crows "August & Everything After"  (45rpm/lp)
