Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Iron Maiden, Piece of mind. (If your gonna die)......."Die with your boots on"!

Nutty

big Hard Rock/Metal fan here. Pantera "Cowboys from Hell" started it all!
Metallica, Kill ’em all. Re-issue on Elektra, 1988 on CD and LP Bonus track.

N
N, Where's a fella to find Kill em All with that track?  It rocks!  I can't find which version it's on.   BTW the CDP is back and I have a music hangover:).  Last night in no particular order.....Limp Biscuit, Foreigner, Heart, AC/DC, Notorious BIG, Depeche Mode,  Dokken, and??  I can't remember the rest😎
I agree with you on Slayer's Abyss. Solid thru and thru.
How about Pantera? A vulgar display of power, anyone?

ghosthouse,
Bob Welch takes us back to the band Paris.

N
Fleetwood Mac - Penguin (old cutout vinyl; some songs courtesy Bob Welch)

Stanley Clark - School Days (more old vinyl w/very good SQ)

Orange Peels - Begin the Begone (an "under the radar" pop band)

Nutty-Great post-Slayer-Seasons in the Abyss is IMO opinion the best Slayer recording. Not one weak song on the album which includes several of the best. Easily a top 25 all time metal recording!!! I will have to take a pass on Jason Aldean.
Last night I listened to Slayer, Seasons in the abyss. "Dead skin mask" is my fav! Just some stuff from my youth.

Jason Aldean, My kinda party. Listened to that by the pool.

Rush, Moving pictures. Yesterday afternoon.

No one listen to music on their system for 24 hours?
It is true I did not listen to anything on my system.
but
I did play a CD in my car    Just Trower     " Back it Up"
And I went for a jog listening to earbuds. Playing more Trower!
However I perfer listening to my system at home

gshephardbuster,

+1 on Dokken. How about The Lynch Mob with George Lynch from Dokken? The first albumn is smokin hot.

radfrad,

Listened to Glenn Hughes, Building the Machine. Another solid recording.

N
Zeppelin kicks ass!   Although it's been a while since playing any... going through a phase I reckon.  Anyhoo today it's been Dokken, Back for the Attack.  Bon Jovi, Slippery When Wet.  Van Halen, 5150.  All LPS until Tuesday when then CDP returns....
facten,

I caught the AXSTV Santana show also. Good to see Neil Schon playing again. That channel has some good programming on occasion. There is a Bob Dylan: 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration tonight. I also like to catch Live at Daryl's House on MTVL (I have Time Warner Cable, ch. 945). He is a Legend, very professional, his band is tight they have some great guests. Todd Rundgren was pretty cool. The audio is pretty good also.

radfrad,

Big Zepplin fan here! I recall hearing Stairs to Heaven on 8 track!

N

Led Zepplin. 1V.    LP
.  Have had this album from about late 70's

Led Zeppelin cleared of plagiarism in Stairway case
So I dropped the needle on my Antique Album
Led Zep is said to have made an estimated 500 million in the last 45 years from the song

A little different spin - found a station on direct tv last night AXSTV (340) as I was channel surfing and they had on some recorded concerts

Santana IV (original group members many years later) & then Robert Plant & the Strange Sensations - two really good shows

According to Wikipedia, Glenn Hughes sings lead vocals on the final verse of "Dreamer" on Tommy's Teaser. But due to contractual reasons, was not credited.
Deep Purple.  LP. 1975
Come Hear the Band

R

Tommy Bolin, Teaser CD.
Not the greatest recording. But the last track "Lotus" is amazing. Play it loud...

N

Ian Pains.  Drums
Richie Blackmore.   Guitar
Glen Hughes.  Bass and Vocals
David Coverdale.  Vocals

My favorite is tract is.   "You Fool Now One"

R
Glen Hughes
"Music for the Devide " .  CD

Life beyond "Deep Purple". At least to me

as stated earlier

"At least someone is still making music like this"

From Deep Purple to solo
this stuff is the best sounding sonically of almost everything I listen

R

..correction: "Goes To Hell"

this may be AC's best (sounding Lp)?

This maybe the first time this lp was mentioned on Audiogon?
ending with:

America "Homecoming"
Alice Cooper "Go To Hell"

go figure...........?
The Blasters "Live at the venue London"
Morrissey "Maladjusted"
Liz Phair "Exile In Guyville"
Dire Straits "Making Movies"
Grateful Dead "Workingman's Dead"
Magnolia Electric Co. "Fading Trails"
Radiohead "Kid A"

I posted this song on 6/20 but I just pulled it up again. It's by Steve Wilson. Very talented. Played with Porcupine Trees, Yes,Tull, King Crimson, Fish, XTC...  I love the "driving" bass line in this song. It features Nick Beggs, some might know him from his big hair 80's days with the band Kagagoogoo. Solid performance all around.

+2 on Collective Soul. Their CD's are recorded well also.
Yes, Going for the one. 1977 features the return of Rick Wakeman.
Hawkwind, In search of space, (Space rock, prog rock) This one is not everybody's cup of tea, Howerver it does feature Lemmy on bass....
Gennsis,  S/T.
Led Zepplin IV, More progressive rock. "Stairway to Heaven" probably the first song to be played on the radio longer than 4 min, right?!

N

Collective Soul "Dosage"

radfrad - your description of Boys Club Live from California has me intrigued.  Going to have to see if I can find that one for a listen.

Boys Club.   Live From California    2 CD set
Deffinately some "Symphonic Rock" with Keith Emerson in there
Down right Emerson Lake & Palmer sounding some tracts
Some Deep Purple sounding tracts also

With Glen Hughes  vocals  ,   and Marc Bonilla  guitar to the mix,
you get an enjoyable ,well recorded ,listening experience.

Its all about the music!
