Whats on your turntable tonight?

Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Michael Jackson / Thriller
1982 Epic
Checking my copy, trying to decide if I want to preorder the Thriller MoFi UltraDisc One Step re-issue. It sounds pretty good so…?

@big_greg  +1 for Mercury Rev. Saw them with my wife before we were married. Saw them with my wife again about a month ago - at least 25 years later. They still sound incredible.

Pink Floyd - new release of Piper in mono

JasStereo - High Standards - Coleman Hawkins & Red Allen

Wet Leg - got a weak spot for this one - can’t get it off the table. The misses is not so impressed.

@zazouswing I will have to check them out if they come around here.  I like Wet Leg too, just got the vinyl the other day, haven't listened yet.

Another copy of Fleetwood Mac - Mirage.  I think this one sounds every bit as good as the Quiex II copy, at least on this system.

To continue my streak of Cincinnati bands I started last night with Ass Ponys and Wussy... Fresh in the mail today...

Frontier Folk Nebraska - "Frontier F**K Nebraska"

It's not folk music, and they're not from Nebraska...

i never warmed up to wussy, but electric rock music might be the great lost album of the 90s--it's brilliant.

Yep, I agree that Wussy has not lived up to Ass Ponys. I'm lukewarm on Wussy, but hot for Ass Ponys!

And I agree, "Electric Rock Music" is a 90's masterpiece. I consider myself lucky to have been around Cincy while Ass Ponys were active in the local bars.

Arrived today,

John Doe "Fables in a Foreign Land"

2022/Fat Possum Records

Hey Steve.   Let us k ow how you like that John Doe Record.  Have my eye on it.

BTW, Plaid Room Records had the RSD Art Pepper mono lp in today. I snagged one.

Tim, noticed you've recently changed your listening habits.....

Listen through several albums from same artist???

Steve, You are correct. It's kind of like being at a concert, which I miss. This is the last from Calexico though since I listened to a couple from them yesterday as well.

Re: John Doe' latest

It's an enjoyable album. Probably more if you're a fan. Side two seems to have some more SQ at some points?

I can tell a slow steam will be forthcoming. I expect it to improve some. No serious pressing issues. First listen, a strong 8 for sonics, 8.5 for music.
