Look forward to hearing your impressions of the new arm @j_husker .

This is quite a wonderful LP package for a single release.

Awesome country pop. Clean, clear and energetic.

Lamb – Cross Between (Warner Bros. 1971)

I have that LP Brian. I figured I was the only one 😁 I should take it for a spin soon now that you reminded me

I.D. Stamper – Red Wing (June Appal 1977)

Appalachian folk. Pretty hard-core Kentucky hammered dulcimer blues. Good recording but it's not hi-fi. Love it.

Taneyev Quartet : Taneyev - String Quartet No. 9 for two Violins, Viola, and Cello. Мелодия 1979 U.S.S.R. release

Rush - Presto.   Great great music but not an audiophile quality record.   This was the last Rush album to come out on vinyl in the US at the time of original issue.  It (Presto) and their previous studio album (Hold Your Fire) are better played digitally. It’s a shame really.  Songs like Razor’s Edge and the title track are for the ages good.

Netania Davrath – Baroque Cantatas with The Wiener Solisten (Vanguard 1966)

Marian McPartland, Teddi King – Marian Remembers Teddi (Halcyon 1974)

World Party / Good bye Jumbo (1990 Chrysalis)

Thin Lizzy / Jailbreak (1976 Mercury)

@bkeske Sorry Brian, no, I just noticed that you appear to be able to type with Russian letters.  I suppose that’s easily done these days but I wouldn’t even know the alphabet…

Bullit Soundtrack / Lalo Schifrin

Sounds AMAZING! And I have never seen a more perfect looking record surface. Not a wave of distortion: a perfect black mirror disc.

And apparently rare: #737/1000. Just happened to find a new one at the record store years ago. Great soundtrack!!!

Ever wonder who is pressing vinyl these days around the world? (hint: way more than you think)

https://vinyl-pressing-plants.com/all-vinyl-pressing-plants-list/countries/

Note, this is not only pressing plants, but brokers, mastering and technology companies related to vinyl pressing.

And some pressing plants do only one size of record.

If I counted correctly, there are 30 operating pressing plants in the US.

And following on to my previous vinyl pressing information,

According to the RIAA, CD sales increased in 2021 for the first time in two decades.

Still, streaming accounts for 83% of revenue versus 11% for vinyl and CD sales.

However, of the 11% of revenue, vinyl sales accounted for 63%.  This continues a 15 year trend of vinyl’s resurgence.

Karajan conducts Prokofiev - Symphony No. 5 B-dur Op. 100. Berlin Philharmoniker. Deutsche Grammophon 1969 German release

The Doors - The Soft Parade

1969 - Elektra Records

Original copy with absolutely fantastic SQ but just a little bit of background noise on the quieter passages.

With this being my favorite Doors album thinking about picking up a new remastered copy but am concerned the SQ won't be as good and I really hate it when that happens.

Steve Miller

Great compendium

Talk about speakers disappearing!

Patsy Cline – I Can't Forget You (Sears 1966)

Lee Andrews And The Hearts – Dean Tyler Presents Lee Andrews And The Hearts - Live On Stage (Lost Nite 1965)

~This is a pretty bright recording with in your lap audience whistles. Lots of energy with the Decca. Where's that old Nagaoka?

The Platters – Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries! (Mercury 1961)

~Sweet album of great music. Life sounded happy back then. A classic. Recording solid and lively. Great test of some interesting voices.

OK, this should be interesting…..
