@tomic601

Thank you. Email me tomorrow at support@audiogon.com and I'll try to help. :)

@sbank  - Hey Spencer. Thanks for the recommendation of Robbie Robertson - "How to be Clairvoyant". It came yesterday and I had my first listen yesterday afternoon.

@reubent impressions of "Clairvoyant"? I find it smooth as 30yr. old scotch.

So my impressions are mixed. I like the songs, I'm lukewarm on the production. The bass is mixed a bit heavy and wooly IMHO. I like the production quality of the S/T release much better. But the S/T release is from 1987. Older than 30 y.o. scotch. And smoother too...

I give it another go in the next few days. Maybe it's aged a bit since my first listen.

@bkeske not familiar with the belt drive KD series, but I know the direct drive stuff is awfully good. I’ve owned a number of dd tables, Pioneer, Sony, Dual etc. So far this block of artificial granite is my favorite.

The 2055 I have is the ‘granite’ plinth as well. That sold me on it. Just a simpler belt drive version of the ‘rock’ direct drive tables.

Soundgarden - Superunknown 20th Anniversary Edition 2014 A & M Records Double 180g vinyl

@puffball08 Daniel - Deerhoof - Mountain Moves

on the streamer… enjoying this… thanks !

Supertramp - Crisis! What Crisis? 1975 A&M Records

A great album that doesn't get enough credit in the shadow of Crime Of The Century and Breakfast In America.

Leo Kottke - 12 String Blues. Oblivion 1969

Most recorded live at The Scholar Coffeehouse, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Family of Mann - "First Light"

I have no idea where this album came from. I don’t recall buying it. Maybe it came in one of the small lots that were gifted to me. Seems out of place for any of those lots as it’s NM, and most of those were, uh, not...

Anyway, taking a listen and it’s pretty good so far.

Edit: OK, this record is much better than I was expecting. First, it is in MN condition and plays very quietly. SQ is very good. Musically, pretty good too. It's a keeper. Saved from the deep cull. Going back on the shelf.

Joni Mitchell-The Hissing Of Summer Lawns Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Brunch-Concerto No.1(Perlman Angel S-36963) Side 2 SQ Audiophile

A great night when 5/8 recordings are Audiophile level. Willie had the weakest SQ at 4.3(above average) but what an overlooked recording. The SQ champ was very close between all 5 recordings. The crown goes to Fraser MacPherson, it lacked the very slight digital? edge of Chapter 8 and Hodgson(Doug Sax). I rarely comment on performance level since it's even more subjective then sound quality, but all 8 recordings rate 5/5.

@tgilg  the Supertramp album, Crisis, was a go-to when living in the dorms, 1975 - 1976.  I agree with you that it was under rated.  It is a stellar Supertramp album and holds well to this day.  I am so glad to have a pp press, in perfect condition, in my collection.  Please, continue to enjoy it.

@tomic601  and  @boxer12  Jim and Tim, yeah, Deerhoof have evolved a lot over their long history.  They formed in 1994 and I first saw them in 1996 when I was working in San Francisco.  Grux from Caroliner recommended I go see them.  I was totally on board after the live shows.

Amazing they've been together for 28 years and counting.

Crisis was one of my favorites by Supertramp. Saw them live right after the Quietest Moments album. I can still envision them on stage. One of my favorite bands from the 70’s.Hodgson and Davies were a great pair.

@whatsaftumch welcome to the group!

Last night a friend who is a fellow Little Feat fan came over and we listened to a few bootlegs, including Electrif Lycanthrope and talking mostly about all things music.  It was a very enjoyable evening.

@tomic601 "Riders" was stormtastic! thanks again for the recommendation.

Took the latest pile of culls to Plaid Room Records today to sell/trade. I had a bottom line price in mind - $130. Was shocked when the offer came back - $315 cash or $375 trade. Holy cow, record price inflation is real!. Anyway, I took $226 cash and the rest in credit for the following:

Daniel Lanois - "Heavy Sun" new

Robbie Robertson - "Sinematic" new

Morphine - "Cure for Pain" new

Elton John - "Rock of the Westies" used (sentimental value)

Joni Mitchell - "Dog Eat Dog" used (sentimental value)

Was happy as a clam! On the TT now:

Daniel Lanois - "Heavy Sun"

Tom….wow, that’s just wonderful…..i got to get more serious culling…will get to it…eventually….

Love that "Morphine" album Tom. It's one of their best IMO

Ditto that Jim for the "Jesse Sykes" album. Great choice
