A Happy Belated New Years All!

Jim lead me to a rabbit hole, and am streaming ‘The Poll Winners’ final album. Barney Kessel, Ray Brown, and Shelly Manne. Found it on Discogs, a remaster, and now purchased. Very nice.

@bkeske Probably the last poll that made any sense to me

The Blues Project – Projections

@bkeske Probably the last poll that made any sense to me

😂

Unfortunately, the seller on Discogs cancelled the sale. Stated he was already sold. Damn. Perhaps Jim beat me to it 😁

Artur Rodzinski conducts Shostakovich - Symphony No. 5. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Special Products 1977

Chicago – Chicago Transit Authority (Rhino 2010 reissue)

It just keeps getting better doesn’t it?   Say, do you have the Steven Wilson remix of Chicago II?   Or, have I already asked you that?   I’ve been enjoying it mucho lately.   It is possible to buy just the black records and not the deluxe digital included version.  I got my copy sealed at the record store by Jim’s California place in Carlsbad.

We must be about the same age because that looks just like a set list from my college dorm…. Welcome.

@spiritofradio I only have a OG Chicago II. Didn't know about Steven Wilson version. Most of his work I know is prog. He's a wizard, surely.

Kiril Kondrashin conducts Shostakovich - The Execution Of Stepan Razin - Poem For Bass, Chorus And Orchestra, Op. 119 & Symphony No. 9 In E Flat Major, Op. 70. Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. Мелодия 1977, USSR release

@lnitm @spiritofradio

Exile played at one of my High School Dances before they became famous (the first time). The band members were from nearby my home town in Central Kentucky.

Marais And Miranda – Sundown Songs (Decca 1957)

Essential. Love it. It’s not Steely Dan. Eccentric and dated. Grows on you. It’s a beautiful sounding record.

Ella Fitzgerald – Sings The Rodgers And Hart Song Book Volume 2 (Verve 1959)

@initm +1Pablo Cruise, final track Ocean Breeze really gets rocking. Great keyboards and guitar. I play it often!

@spiritofradio

Far Out Tom!   Did you wear your bell bottom jeans to the dance?

Maybe. Can't be sure. Our school was in the middle of a transition from bell bottom to straight cut about that time.

David Gray - "Mutineers"

Again! What a great album. Glad it's available on vinyl.

@16f4 Welcome !

James - Spin Records about a mile from home down the railroad trail !

Brian - I swear i didn’t poach your Poll Winners LP out from under ya !

Bit slow here today, …. best to all

Jim, I tried to post a link to 10cc’s You’ve Got A Cold for you but couldn’t get it to work without calling in IT…some of this stuff just isn’t iPad friendly.
