Geminiani - Anthony Pleeth, Richard Webb, Christopher Hogwood – Six Cello Sonatas, Op.5 (L’Oiseau-Lyre 1976)

Eagles: Live at the Forum 1976

Overall pretty good record. Cool to hear some Hotel California songs that were played live before the album release.

@sourpuss123 +1 It's Like This, great album! She's my all-time fav.

Stevie Nicks - The Wild Heart

Night Beats - Sonic Bloom (RSD 2020)

@sourpuss123 @sbank Yes to R L Jones ! we were blessed to catch her live w concert grand at Triple Door  in Seattle…. she was fantastic….+++++++

RLJ - Pirates ( which i consider an emotive sonic landscape master work )

Melody Gardot – My One And Only Thrill (Verve 2009)

When I first played when it was released, I didn’t like it at all and it sounded dull and flat. Second time was years later and it sounded a good bit better. Playing it now and it’s like a different album, both musically and SQ. Still a little peaky in the mid-bass. Quality of kit is so important.

My Morning Jacket Okonokos

4 lp's not a click or pop.

super recording mastered by Bob Ludwig.

@noromance,

I think I've sold a couple lps too soon, based on how my system sounded at that point.

@puffball08

If anyone is interested in what remains of Smog Veil’s inventory, here is the email flyer I received today.

Very cool, thanks for the link.

You’re very welcome.  Have a look at Chris Butler and Ralph Carney’s “Songs For Unsung Holidays”.  Very humorous and witty, typical Chris Butler.  (yes, that Chris Butler as in The Waitresses). This was the last recording Ralph Carney did prior to his very unfortunate passing.

Fairport Convention "Unhalfbricking"

2008/4 Men With Beards

I’d imagine a pp will sound better than this one. I hear all of the flaws in this pressing now.

Arrived home today with this delivery in the mail:

Dexter Gordon-A Day in Copenhagen 2021 MPS

Little Feat-Electrif Lycanthrope 2021 RSD

Yup, I stood in line this cold morning to get the Feat RSD release. Came home after work to clean and play it only to find disc one is warped. Not so bad it affects play, but still, kinda bummed. On the other hand, this Dexter record is great! Never heard of MPS before, but they did a fantastic job with this one.

Tim - pent up demand  and a bit of leftover birthday $ are a dangerous combination….

@boxer12 Congrats, that looks like an awesome arm.

@tomic601 Nice haul! Please let us know if the LA Woman sounds as good as the hype. I might have to get it; "Riders" is my wife's fav Doors tune.

Today, I visited a LRS that does "Barter Day" where they value your trade-ins and give you 100% in trade credit, forgoing their profit as a public service. I brought in a dozen collectibles and scored a $1250 credit. Walked out with:

  • Coltrane - A Love Supreme (new reissue)
  • Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage
  • The National - Boxer
  • Stax Singles 68-74
  • Bob Welch - French Kiss
