Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
It’s Russian composer night. Starting with Glinka and working forward to maybe Tchaikovsky, time pending. Tomorrow picks up when tonight leaves off.
Members of The Vienna Octet : Britten - Sinfonietta, Op. 1 & Hindemith - Octet (1957–58). London Records 1976 reissue. Originally 1965.
Paul & Paula – We Go Together (Philips 1963 mono)

If I could drink, I'd be dancing to this. Sweet and clear. Lovely.
Tony Joe White "That On The Road Look, "Live"
Real Gone Music

My music friend let me have first listen since I flattened it for him
@spiritofradio

Very cool regarding living in the Village, and having places like the Blue Note to visit. My cousin lived in lower Manhattan for years (close to the Village), but every time I visited we hung out at his loft, in his immediate neighborhood, or a close-by eatery. Wish I would have thought about making a point in visiting some of those clubs back then. Oh well. ‘Serious’ jazz clubs are not easy to find.
Brian,  after we moved back west we lived in Oakland where Yoshi’s (the old joint and the new) drew fantastic players.   We were raising kids and didn’t get there often enough but we were very fortunate with that club close by.  San Francisco was pretty good too….
Nancy Harrow – Anything Goes (Audiophile 1979)

Trying out PC-OCC interconnects from pre to mono. Almost perfect except for a slight dry upper mid hardness. Back to the reference. Nothing has beat them to date. They have a fast, light and airy, get out-of-the-way sound.

Album is great too.
@noromance ,

Noticed you feature many lps on Audiophile. Is that the label name?
Kyndel-kvartetten : Stenhammar - String Quartet No. 2, Op. 14 & Lidholm - Music For Strings (1952). Sveriges Radio 1967 Swedish release
Django Reinhardt Et Le Quintette Du Hot Club De France - Nubes (Barclay 1968)
Side 1

Doc Evans / Knocky Parker / Albert Nicholas / Earl Murphy / Gene Juckem – Reminiscing In Dixieland, Stomps And Blues Vol. 1 (Audiophile 1958)

In your room clarity. Weird that I find syncopated swing Dixieland Jazz relaxing!
Steve, try one of the red vinyl 50s albums like the one up now^.

Good to see you playing away, Mr. Keske.
The Tony Joe lp is somewhat a disappointment in that the vinyl arrived severely warped and noisy.

But that 10 minute version of Polk Salad Annie....hell yeah!
Rex Brown "Smoke on This....."

After a deep clean...

Really good record!  Especially if you turn up.
Amadeus-Quartett : Schubert - String Quartet In G Major. Deutsche Grammophon reissue 1974. Originally 1965. Australian release

Thanks Brian. Like Steve, unfortunately my mother is going through some serious health issues at the moment, thus, it’s been tough finding time to relax with my music. Thankfully this is one of those nights. Needed.
Kathleen Edwards "Total Freedom"

Always loved her. Will buy any future lp without hesitation.
Pat Metheny - "American Garage" - my original 1979 ECM that I bought when it came out while I was in college.
Had a hankerin’ to play some Black Sabbath.

For some reason, I bought the "Vol IV" box set, out of all the rest. I guess I felt this album was in need of more meaning, in a superior. SQ. way.

On first listen, last year, I wasn’t blown away.....let’s see.....

,...........

Where’s the bass man?

Can't stand it anymore. Something else please.
From yesterday and today...

Roxy Music  "Siren"
The Moody Blues  "On The Threshold Of A Dream"
The Moody Blues  "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour"
Leon Russell  "Will O' The Wisp"
John Mayall  "Blues From Laurel Canyon"
Toto  "Turn Back"
Stomo Yumashta Steve Winwood Michael Shrieve  "Go"

Mostly some familiar LPs, I just wanted that.  But the "Go" album, now that will take you to outer space!

A bit of a challenge to flip albums with this big bandage on my right hand.  And one-handed typing, too.  I take off the bandage this weekend and next Friday the stitches will be removed.  A few weeks of PT and I should be rockin' it.  Looking forward to Saturday night toke & vinyl...😊
@slaw Yeah, Kathleen Edwards is under-appreciated! Every release of hers stands the test of time.

Mendelssohn in Scotland - Peter Maag/LSO 1960 Kingsway Hall Decca reissue - wow!

Jackson Browne - Running On Empty  This one sounds so much better on vinyl than the digital version I'd been listening to for years. Such a great record from start to finish.

Aeolian String Quartet : Haydn - Haydn String Quartets Volume Eight, Op.3 & Seven Last Words. London Records 3LP box, 1979
@bkeske Brian, Paula Cole stole the show in my opinion. As much as I love Madeleine Peyroux's recordings, she was a little "meh" as a performer. Maybe just an off night. Paula Cole on the other hand really connected with the crowd and man does she have some pipes!
John Mayall & Friends "Along for the Ride"

My replacement copy, sounds amazing!
@sourpuss123  -  Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery / The Dynamic Duo

+1 - Great album!
Same impression of Paula when we caught her at Triple Door a few years ago….. how wonderful Greg - happy you are out and about w live music
@big_greg

Wow, that is too bad. I also have a couple of her ‘albums’ on CD and really enjoy them. But, good for Paula, and glad you enjoyed some live music.

Taking a break and streaming the Berlin Philharmonic live on the Digital Concert Hall. Nice program today.
@slaw  Steve, I'm glad that your replacement copy of Mayall & Friends "Along For The Ride" is a great one.  The music is fabulous and the SQ and total production, I found with my copy, is absolutely outstanding.  Really, one of the better sounding albums I own, no matter the price.  And again, the music is just fabulous.  Side B, cut 3, "If I Don't Get Home" is my favorite on the album.  I think now that it's destined to play later tonight.

Enjoy it in good health.
