@big_greg,

Live music last night - Pat Metheny, five rows back, center stage, first date of his tour. He was in fine form and put on a great show. His drummer in particular was outstanding.

My brother and I have tickets (6th row center) to see the show in Portland next Tuesday.   Same medium sized venue (former small and ancient high school auditorium) as the last tour.  Never have so looked forward to seeing a show.
Stokowski conducts Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 In C-Sharp Minor / Enescu - Roumanian Rhapsody No.1 In A Op.11 / Smetana - The Moldau & The Bartered Bride : Overture. RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra. RCA Victor Red Seal, date unknown, probably late 60’s, originally 1961

Damon Fowler is an American electric blues and blues rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Allmusic noted that "his sound is blues based, but there are hints of country, swamp rock, R&B, and swing in his playing and song writing."[2]

Over the years, Fowler has worked with Delbert McClinton, Chris Duarte, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Gregg Allman, Junior Brown, Rick Derringer, Little Feat, Jimmie Vaughan, Victor Wainwright, Butch Trucks, Dickey Betts and the Radiators.[1][3]

Szell conducts Brahms - Double Concerto In A Minor, Op. 102. The Cleveland Orchestra with Oistrach, violin & Rostropovich, cello. Angel reissue 1980’s, originally 1970.

Anyone else's computer "sluggish" on this site tonight?
Traffic - Shootout ( server )

As James would say : “ stuck in traffic “
Pere Ubu / Pennsylvania

Jim,
Thanks for the response. I rebooted & it's better.
James, I think you'll really enjoy Pat Metheny if you haven't seen him before.  Are you talking about Revolution Hall?  We saw Todd Rundgren and Utopia there a few years ago, cool place.
Greg, seen Pat many times, including his last show a couple of years ago at Revolution Hall.  He’s going to be there again Tuesday.   Really jazzed for it.
@noromance

Anyone know where @uberwaltz is gone?

Not sure he has gone anywhere, just took a break from the 'gon'. At least that is what he stated when I contacted him a week or so after he 'disapeard'.

I did see him selling off some of his gear on US Audio Mart a couple/few months ago, stating he was 'sticking with vinyl'.  That said, I think the Avid was sold, the Rega I believe was up for sale, but not the Garrard. His Nak deck was up for sale, but then seemingly pulled (I thought about contacting Kevin about that), and some of his HT speakers and equipment.

Thats all I know.
This just came in, I have to take a break and spin it....Vinyl is in almost MN condition.

Pete Townshend & Ronnie Lane - Rough Mix. Polydor 1977, New Zealand release.

Looking forward to this, I loved this album when released, but never bought it.

@drrsutliff could possibly update us on Uber. I for one greatly miss him - a super solid contributor.

Ani DeFranco - Living in Clip ( server )
Steve is in touch with Kevin I know.
+1 on Montrose

+ 1 on Rough Mix

+ 1 on all you guys.
@noromance

@bkeske Thanks man. Didn't he buy a The Gate? Glad he's keeping the 401!

Yea, he did buy The Gate, a picture of it may still be on his systems page.
Herbert Blomstedt conducts Nielsen - ‘The Symphonies Of Carl Nielsen, Album 1’ ; Symphony No. 1, 2, & 3. The Danish National Radio Orchestra. Seraphim 3LP box 1975
what do they say, don’t let the gate hit ya….

sorry couldn’t resist..

Anna Ternheim - The Night Visitor
The Dave Brubeck Quartet “Newport 1958”

Nina Simone “Little Girl Blue”

Both these albums are from my parents collection and bought in the late 1950’s.  Unplayed since at least 1989. I just put together my record cleaning setup and these are the first experimental cleanings to try out.
@bkeske I suspect Rough Mix didn’t disappoint on vinyl.

Spent the day off today cleaning all the records I’ve acquired over the last month or so. Then spun a few:

Neil Young-Comes A Time 1978 Reprise
Sabbath-Paranoid 1971 WB

Now Spinning Stones-Exile 1972 Pittman
@j_husker
@bkeske I suspect Rough Mix didn’t disappoint on vinyl.

No, it did not. Thanks. Sounded really good. I literally had not heard that album since 1978, and incredibly, I remembered each song. Liked it then, like it even more now.
Herbert Blomstedt conducts Nielsen - ‘The Symphonies Of Carl Nielsen, Album 2’ ; Symphony No. 4, 5, & 6 & Rhapsodie Overture (An Imaginary Trip To The Faroe Islands). The Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Seraphim 3LP box. 1975

No. 3 was so enjoyable from the last box, as it was a real departure from his first two, I decided to keep it going…

I could put on my copy of "Rough Mix" and be cool like you guys. But I had something else on my mind before I checked the thread. Maybe tomorrow...

In the meantime, back to my original plan...

Rush - "Signals"
@boxer12  - Thanks for the vote of confidence. I can rest easy now, knowing I've still got it!
