the perfect balance of perfectly voiced vocal microphone , instruments AND dripping sound stage ambience….
Roger Waters  "Amused To Death"  This album is the ultimate in ambience, width, and outside-of-the-speakers effects.  But it also has the most incredible center-stage vocals I have ever heard.  In the room with you, almost scary.

I'm heading to the Big Island, Hawaii, tomorrow.  Unfortunately not a vacation, but to visit with my very ill sister.  I'll still check in and get ideas of what to play upon my return, next weekend.

Be safe and be healthy.
Safe travels Joel. Prayers for your sister; Grace, peace and a restoration to health !

All the best with your trip tomorrow Joel. Sorry to hear about your sisters health issue.

Brian Wilson & Van Dyke Parks / Orange crate instrumentals
Finally…but it will be in great moderation

Leonard Cohen - Live in London on the…. SOTA….
Sometimes I neglect the records I already have in my collection because I'm busy playing new music. So... The Wall.
@mammothguy54

Sorry to hear Joel. Thoughts and prayers to you, your sister, and family and friends.

@tomic601

Jim, you are finally spinning vinyl? Fantastic.
You guys are all fantastic.  Thank you very much for your kind words and thoughts.

Signing off, have to pack the computer now.
A big +1 for King Crimson, starless & bible black!

Pink Floyd / A saucerful of secrets
Well, the Browns broke my heart today. Thought they had the win today in very tough surroundings on the road in KC. But, not to be at the end.

So, after watching all the post game ‘stuff’ I could, it’s time to sooth my soul with music.

Tom Petty - Wildflowers & All The Rest. Warner 3LP set 2020
Feeling a little unhinged tonight after a long day working, so...

Stooges -- "Funhouse"
@tomic601

What do you think of Mary Gauthier? I am a big fan of both Mercy Now and Rifles and Rosary Beads. Great stuff.
Carbon Based Lifeforms “Twentythree” and “Irdial”

Streaming FLAC from my NAS while we are both on the sofa reading our books.
@waltersalas thx, really digging Mercy Now

i am a sucker for pared down but gut wrenching, this is a master work in that respect… wow
@tomic601 If your enjoying Mary Gauthier, give Trouble and Love a listen. That album found me when I needed it.

I need to go record shopping!

Gill Fuller & the Monterey Jazz Festival Orchestra. Featuring Dizzy Gillespie…. Man from Monterey sounds alive. A nice find.

Harry Nilsson / A little touch of Schmilsson in the night

Cowboy Junkies / The Caution Horses

Mercy Now and Trouble and Love are just awesome - thank you @waltersalas and @sourpus123
I just watched a video made by an acquaintance of mine about his time in Vietnam as part of Operation Phoenix.   I have known Roger for about 10 years and I knew he was retired Army but had no idea what he had done during the war.     I am not trying to make any political statement but if you are interested, the interview can be found in the link below. It is almost an hour and 30 minutes.

@boxer12 do you know this Tim?

I had no idea this was so good.
Hey spiritofradio,
I do not have that one from them but do have their "The louder I call, the faster it runs", which I like a lot. I'll check it out though, Thanks!

As @sourpuss123 brought up a record that finds you in your time of need…well me anyway
Roger Waters – The Pros And Cons Of Hitch Hiking (Harvest 1984)

Bought it when it was released. Still remember being blown away by it. Technics belt drive, Rotel amp and cheap KEF speakers. "Sexual Reeeevvvolution." They were the days. Thought we would live forever.
&noromance +1 4 pros and cons.  Bought It new on cassette. Recently overpaid for a vinyl copy that’s rather scratchy.  Eyes open for another, better copy.

Also want Amused to Death on Vinyl if only for Jeff Beck on the opening track.  Ex took the cd in the divorce.

We’re going to Wyoming darling….which way is Wyoming?

the Sadie’s / New Seasons

@tomic601 +1 on the Zevon Jim.  I don't know if you ever had a chance to see him perform, but he was quite the showman.

@sourpuss123 There's a new 45RPM of Amused to Death from Analogue Productions available for preorder.
@noromance

+1 bkeske.

That is a pretty unusual recording selection of Brahms by Bernstein. Really nice, and a very good recording for 1968. Recommended.
