Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Reiner conducts Brahms - Violin Concerto In D, Op. 77. Chicago Symphony with Heifetz. RCA Victor Red Seal reissue, date unknown, shaded dog label, guessing early 60’s. Originally 1955. Canadian release
Smoooooth day...

Grover Washington Jr.  "Inside Moves"
Robert Cray  "Strong Persuasion"
Bryan Ferry  "Boys and Girls"
@boxer12 I've seen you post about Bardo Pond, but wasn't familiar with them.  I'm checking out Dilate on Qobuz and really liking it.  Thanks!
@big_greg

John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman

Fantastic album. Only have the digital file. Need to find that on vinyl.
CocoRosie – Grey Oceans (Sub Pop 2010)

Stunning album. Play it in the late night when your gear and mind are warmed up.
Brian, my copy is a little beat up.  It's a 1980 reissue and it looks like something chewed off one of the corners of the sleeve and the vinyl has some surface noise, but it still sounds great!
Very smooth Joel. Nice set.

I’m listening to the solo piano of Cordelia Williams.
Crispian Steele-Perkins, Gerald Gifford – The Proud Trumpet (Musical Heritage Society – 1981)

Sometimes you just need a trumpet with a church organ in a church.
Melanie – Gather Me (Buddah 1971)

Seriously great songs. Had a bunch of her albums from back in the day. Met her once. If interested, play side 2.
Ahmad Jamal - Live At The Montreal Jazz Festival 1985. Atlantic 1986 2LP gatefold

damn, I love this album. And seemed perfect for a Friday afternoon. Feels like I’m there….
Shannon & The Clams "Year of the Spider"
Produced by Dan Auerbach/recorded at Easy Eye Sound/Nashville, where Dan records his lps.

Been wanting to try one of Shannon’s lps for years ever since I heard her cover "White Rabbit"
Drive-by Truckers "Plan 9"
Lp 3

..."I got 350 heads
on a 305 engine
I get 10 miles a gallon
ain’t got no good intention"...
Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um. Columbia/MOV European reissue 2015. Originally 1959
Joanne Shaw Taylor "Wild"

I've been a huge fan of hers for years, only problem in the past there's been no vinyl. I'd check now and again and finally gave up. That is, until this past week, I saw her new (lp) coming out, produced by Joe Bonamassa. I did a quick search and found 3/4 of her albums available on vinyl.

Got this one in this week from overseas.
Being that it is August 27th... Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Best of the best.  RIP!

Today isn’t any different than any other day.  He is on at some point daily.
Big Greg,
I'm glad you enjoyed "Dilate". I really like that band (& have most of what's available from them), but that one in particular is probably my favorite.

Pere Ubu / The Tenement Year
made the Perfect Vinyl Forever plunge today $175 for 16 discs US cleaned, round trip shipping, insurace.  While i really want a Degritter, i am going to give this a whirl and position the nitty gritty somewhere….

First world problems, I know ( heavy sigh )

Joe Harley of Audioquest / Blue Note / Tone Poet is a big fan.

Will report on results.
That’s actually a good price Jim, considering dual shipping. Not like having your own machine but it’s a start. Now....the ORB is floating around in your thoughts?

As I keep reminding you...first world advantages.

I should try to sell you something before you get back on your feet. Ha ha.
