Thanks for your kind remarks on the Fynes. I've been really impressed with them. If you are ever near western North Carolina, you are more than welcome to drop in for a listen!

Now Playing:

Sarah Jarosz -- "World on the Ground"

If you folks don't know her work, check it out. Barely thirty years old, she already has six very good records under her belt, well-recorded, too. Highly recommended.
Walter - congrats on the new speakers - enjoy !

I think with you now there are at least 4 of us here w appreciation for Sarah J

I am spinning Sarah M - Solace
@slaw
Do you have it on vinyl or have you heard it on vinyl.
I thought it just sounded a little flat and lifeless compared to the CD I’ll try it again and maybe Crank It Up more.
It is 2014 Album from Highway 20 Records>looks like that is the original and only Vinyl release. No RE as of yet
I think it is one of her best Albums IMO.
Well,
I just fired it up again and turned it up ...and Guess What ?
It sounds Excellent. Killer Deep Bass and dynamics
I have to turn it up to 61 % to get it to come alive.
Most other Albums I never go Above about 54-58 max.
Well I am Glad I tried it again.
Favs are "Foolishness" song as well as "West Memphis" and "East Side Of Town"
We get set in our thinking , which was that it would be too much to go that high on the output.
It seems that its output level is lower than most
Live and Learn. I Guess
Thanks Slaw

Bandsintown | Sarah Jarosz Tickets - Bijou Theatre, Sep 17, 2021
I don't think you are too far away.  I know that I met up with you maybe  6-8 years ago and bought your Lampizator  BIG 6.
@tomic601

I agree with you about Blue Heron Suite. I fell in love with it immediately the first time I streamed it and ordered the vinyl a few weeks ago. I think it's coming this week. I've been streaming BHS for a couple of weeks and like it better every time I hear it. Also, there's a great cover of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I Am Looking For" that is outstanding, though it is not on this album. She can do no wrong in my book. I hope that her great U2 cover shows up on a future album.

@grey9hound

Thanks for the tip on her Knoxville show. Alas, we'll be at Merlefest that weekend--which is where I saw her last, a couple of years ago. Otherwise, I'd make the drive over without hesitation.

I'm a big fan! Actually, saw I'm with her, a couple years ago. Finally bought the lp. Sounds great!
Fleetwood Mac "Mystery To Me"

My late brothers were 14 and 10 years older than me (Indeed Mr. Costello, accidents will happen lol).

I would visit my older brother during summer vacation. A Pioneer/Technics fan.

He handed me some headphones and played "Hypnotized" and "Emerald Eyes". He smiled at the look on my face.

1974. I was 12.

Another visit. 13?

I was sleeping on the living room floor. The lights were out, an FM music station was on, and the glow of the receiver captivated me.

Out of nowhere The Eagles "One of These Nights"

*THAT* was the moment I fell completely in love with "the music".

Perhaps a bit off topic...

What was your moment?
@steve_wisc,

I think there is a thread related to your post if you care to search it out?
