Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Rhiannon Giddens was one of the artists honoring at The Kennedy Center a few years ago. She came out and blew the house down wearing bear feet. I assume that was a nod to her roots.
Fleet Foxes "Crack-Up"
Bought it because I loved their first two lps. Haven't listened to this much, so, here we go....
I quite enjoy Rhiannons cannon of work and her activism. Carolina Chocolate Drops to solo to New Basement tapes....bring it.....

Joel - congrats on degritter, i want one because....well, you know....and my perception is it’s condo friendly......
Don’t know what it is about "Crack-Up", but it draws me in.

Thinking about it, I believe I used those exact same words after listening to one of their first two albums.

( Got my first vaccine today, no problems...so far) Glad I didn't opt for the previous administration's bleach injection!!!!
Judas Priest - Rocka Rolla. It's on a purple splatter vinyl, and unlike how some colored vinyl can sound, the sound quality is excellent.
Traffic "The Studio Albums" 67 - 74  Box set

"Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys"
i like the stuck in traffic box set Steve, even tho i got a bad low spark, the sleeve leaked printing white....

anyway, excellent sonics for me.....
that is my favorite Steve...it shimmers magic....thought about naming the boat after that song.....
Good Call My Brother!

Just need to say in smaller font: "approved by the the war dept"
If you do that... I'll sponser your boat, with MyMat.... not only provides excellent sonics, yet it has non-slip properties!!

@geof3, +1 that is fantastic music.  Gilmore not afraid to really put his personality into his playing.

@dayglow

Crosby, Stills & Nash-ST Side 1 SQ 4.4
That’s a high mark from you.  Which issue/pressing?

Hey Steve, how you doing?

My wife was hit pretty hard after the 1st injection.  It took awhile for the bad stuff to kick in though.

@spiritofradio yes, and for a live album the mix and pressing are stellar.
@slaw Glad to hear it.
Re: Crack Up. I really like it too. Might be more straightforward music than the previous two. Just been looking for my copy and have somehow misplaced it. At some point (a couple of years ago) I k ow it was in the heavy rotation section... hmmm, misfiled or leant to one daughter or the other maybe. The search will continue. Funny, that hardly ever happens. I tend to think I know where I’ve put them all .... maybe I’ve cracked up
Neil Young "Prairie Wind"
Classic Records...this one sounds very good, actually, Damn good!!!
@spiritofradio

I believe its an original pressing Green/Red Atlantic SD 8229. The cover is a heavy gatefold with liner notes and lyrics. In the dead wax GB and P.R. appear on both sides. Yes I am conservative with sound quality ratings mostly due to not having a top level ultrasonic record cleaning machine which could add 1 or 2/10 of a point. Currently using an entry level Nitty Gritty which has provided 8 years of trouble free service but an upgrade is needed. I think my highest rating is a 4.8 Harry James/Sheffield and a Mercury Living Presence/Balalaika Favorites. Any recording that receives a 4,5/5 or > is an audiophile level recording.
There’s been some talk about Beth Hart recently..check out

"Better Than Home"  on now
Yeah!   I was spinning Beth Hart a couple weekends ago.  Will check it out Steve.
@dayglow

thank you for the helpful response. That record is a favorite of mine. I have just a pp from college days and I believe neither it’s condition nor it’s original potential are very close to that level.  Been on my list for an upgrade.  You remind me to reexamine my upgrade priorities (right now I feel that I’m too tempted by new issues).  Thanks for your thoughtfulness in responding.
More work, more cassette music...
Foreigner - Debut
I documented the recording chain: Thorens 166, AT / Signet TK5e, Hegeman HAPI II preamp, Nak 480 deck...

sounds great, what fun
Jim, the Degritter is absolutely condo friendly.  Perfect size and easy to operate.  Fits right in as a quality component to any system.  And works exceptionally well.  I'm thrilled.
