Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Brian - glad you are enjoying both - various finds of mine that i think contributors to this thread might enjoy.... always extra fun when a disc meets the mark...ha
Tchaikovsky-Concerto No.1(Van Cliburn LSC-2252) Side 1 SQ 4.3
Phoebe Snow-Looks Like Snow Side 1 SQ 4.2
Jefferson Starship-Freedom At Point Zero Side A SQ 4
Susannah McCorkle-No More Blues Side 2 SQ 4.4
Olivia Newton-John-Totally Hot(MFSL 1-040) Side 2 SQ 4.3
Mongo Santamaria-Ole Ola Side 2 SQ 4.4
Don Williams-Volume One Side 1 SQ 4.3
Frankly, from memory, using 3 MyMats on the Brandi Carlisle lp, the overall SQ is smoother, the bass is more integrated without being overdone.
I've been unavailable for a while (again).  But Friday - Sunday played a good number of tunes.

Van Der Graff  'Still Life'  Interesting album
Van Der Graff  'The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome'  Better than the other one and actually pretty cool.  Both of these have very good SQ.
Traffic  'Low Spark of High Heeled Boys' Reissue and really great!
Beth Hart  'Fire on the Floor'  Excellent album!  SQ is a bit too laid back on the drums and cymbals. I was surprised on that.  But great otherwise.
Love  'Forever Changes'  Reissue and what a great album.  Brings me back to my freshmen year of high school.  Really good vinyl and SQ.
John Mayall & Friends  'Along for the Ride'  Superb album, outstanding guest musicians, fantastic grade of vinyl and production quality.  SQ is wonderful, as is the music.  This one will get a lot of play.

I ordered a Degritter ultra sonic record cleaner last week.  Currently in route, FedEx Tracking shows it will arrive by Thursday.  I got a screaming deal on it, which really helps (they are expensive!).  I'll report back on just how well it does for my records SQ.  I anticipate excellent results.

Recent reissue

Has taken on new meaning in a world seen through virus colored glasses.  My city has been overrun by the ravages of heroin addiction.   This record speaks about both in a language from a simpler times.

@mammothguy54, Hey there.   A Degritter. Nice!   I’d like to hear from you about how you like both it’s operation and results.
@boxer12, hey Tim, I’ve been thinking about you and I hope your wife is feeling better.   Hope you’re hanging in there.
Spirit, Tomic,
Thank you very much. I’ll be taking her back to the hospital tomorrow morning for some follow-up tests. I’m seeing improvements in her & we’re hoping for positive test results.

Scud Mountain Boys / Massachusetts
Good to hear Tim.  Will be thinking and praying for both of you.

The Who - "Live at Leeds"

The Complete 33 Track Set - Deluxe 3LP Edition - Half Speed Mastered at Abby Road Studios

Thanks to @johnto for the heads-up on this one. I always loved the original and mine is well played and past its prime. And although I loved the performance, I always thought the original sounded, well, truncated. This 3LP version is the opposite of truncated. Not only is it all of the songs from the original 33 track set, but they also left in all of the banter between the band and the crowd. And the sound quality is so good.

Get it if you are a fan of The Who. It's a smokin' deal at $30 for the 3LP deluxe Edition. Excellent quiet vinyl and fantastic packaging. One of the best deals ever on a re-issue/re-master. Well Done.

Boz Scaggs-  Dig
brand new sealed(Until now) Vinyl 2016 RE 180G
DOUBLE LP
Probably not well known but definitely one of my favourites by him.
 Just a nice warm tone
Blue Öyster Cult - Secret Treaties. I hesitated to even put this one on my turntable and thought it was headed for the bin because it’s so scuffed and scratched up, but it’s playing great! Who knows, maybe it’s even White Hot Stamper material.  Maybe I'll put my Speakers Corner copy in the bin instead.  I really need to thin out my collection.
At the risk of making myself look foolish (I know, I know, nothing new...) wanted to post info about mail order situation from Germany.   I’ve had great luck in the past ordering (typically good) German pressings hiding in seller bins and attics over there in the old world but lately it’s been all bad luck.  8 week delivery times now not unusual.  Add bad communication to the situation and it can detract from the experience.   Thought I should give warning.
@boxer12  I wish the best for you wife.  I hope the test results provide very good news.  Stay well and healthy.

@reubent  thanks for the heads up on the Live At Leeds.  I have an original pressing (well worn) and a box set The Who put out a number of years ago with a fresh vinyl disc and that also includes CDs with the recordings from Leeds and Hull (another venue in England).  It's fun to compare the two performances.  I'll have to check into this 3 LP edition for all of those extra songs.

I have seen The Who 5 times.  The last two times were about 10 years ago.  However, the first three times included the North American Tours of Tommy (about 2 months after the Live At Leeds album first released), then Who's Next, then Quadrophenia.  Memories for life!!!  Living and growing up in Southern California provided incredible concerts for basically every great band there is.
Steve Earle - Guitar Town, surprize 5$ find at the local record shop in an the "Budget" unsorted bin.  It looked pretty scratched but i was so excited to find it I bought it anyway.  Plays very well (better than most "180g Audiophile grade" new releases) and the recording is soooo well done.  Very lucky & happy.
@wgh64  - Nice find. "Guitar Town" is a great album. Wish I had it on vinyl......
@mammothguy54  - Buy the 3LP Deluxe Edition of "Live at Leeds". It is very likely basically the same set you heard on the "Tommy" tour back in the day. It's played end to end, with all of the between-track banter left in. Great set and the sound quality is excellent.
@reubent  Yes indeed, it is the very same concert that I saw and we knew that going into it.  That's why I would like to get the 33 track set.  Check this out, it was an all day concert event at the Anaheim Angels Ballpark.  I was about 80 feet from the stage, dead center.  Opening act was Blues Image, next up was John B Sebastion, next up was Jesse Colin Young, next up was Leon Russel, and then finally The Who.  WOW!!!
I looked on Elusive Disc and Acoustic Sounds and can not find the album you described.  Only a reissue of Live At Leeds (180 gr, same 6 songs) and a used offering of the box set I have (at $225 and I paid $100).  What label is it one and/or can you direct me to where I can buy it.  It's something I would like to have.
Thank you very much.

Seriously GREAT value. Might be the best value in new vinyl I've ever seen. The quality of the packaging is first rate and the vinyl quality is first rate also.

I’ve ordered a lot of records through Amazon but their packaging is quite often pretty bad (like, not even in an LP mailer). Amazon has a pretty good return policy but who wants the bother.... PopMarket has better packaging.  Also, believe it or not, Wall Mart sometimes has the best deals going on re-issues and all I’ve ordered through them has come in proper LP shipping materials.  My 2C.  YMMV.
Thanks so much guys.  PopMarket has it on backorder.  Wall Mart is much more expensive than Amazon for this one.  So, Amazon it is.
This should be a treat, bringing back great memories, and on vinyl.
Hey Joel, Let us know how you like the "Live at Leeds" Deluxe 3LP re-master. I really like it. And how did The Jan Hammer Group - "Oh, Yeah?" turn out for you?
"Oh, Yeah?" is a very good album.  I can see now why Jeff Beck chose Jan Hammer to do a live album release.  They play together perfectly. Great music and I am glad to have it in my collection.  I have listened to it a few times already.  Thank you for the recommendation.

What will be fun is after my Degritter arrives (FedEx Tracking still says Thursday) I will clean my original copies of some albums I have repurchased (reissues) and compare the SQ.  Will the Degritter significantly do away with the old record noise?  Will the original pressings sound as good or even better than the reissues?  Examples:  Tommy (original and Geffen reissue), Supper Session (original and Speakers Corner reissue), Tumbleweed Connection (original and the reissue), etc...  Also, many other older albums that are quite noisy.
I am really looking forward to the ultra sonic experience of bringing me closer to the music.
I will indeed let you all know.
