@bkeske,

Brian, how would you rate the SQ and vinyl of the Davis Sibelius box set?
Peter Ludwig, Peter Wopke, Arben Spahiu ‎- Café Banlieue (Farao Studios 2006)
@spiritofradio

It’s pretty good, but to be honest not my favorite Sibelius cycle. My favorite cycle is Maazel with the Wiener Philharmoniker. Released by DECCA, but I only have it on CD. There are LP box sets of the same cycle.

Davis, to me, is a bit ‘hit or miss’. But, I did want a vinyl cycle, this popped-up at a good cost, so jumped on it. Not disappointed, just like Maazel’s set better. As far as SQ, it’s good, but far from great.

@noromance  - I have  that record - Gare Du Nord ‎- "Rendezvous 8:02". I like it quite a bit. Was a recommendation from @abucktwoeighty  I believe. Maybe I'll give it a spin again tomorrow morning.
True Stories - Talking Heads
Not their best, but we loved them starting from seeing them at UCLA on the tour for their first album and True Stories is still very good.
Shakti with John McLaughlin - Natural Elements. Columbia 1977

Nice morning music
Freddie Hubbard - Reevaluation: The Impulse Years. ABC/Impulse 2 LP gatefold 1973
Elton John-Don't Shoot Me (I'm Only The Piano Player) Japanese first pressing
Frank Zappa- Waka Jawaka- WLP
Marshall Crenshaw- Self-titled first LP
Lynyrd Skynyrd- Second Helping (First issue Sounds of the South press)
McCoy Tyner - Time for Tyner. Blue Note reissue/remaster 1986, originally 1969
Mr. Mailman just brought me The Flaming Lips "American Head"

I'm thinking this could be a sleeper.
Gale Garnett ‎– Lovin’ Place (RCA Victor 1965)

Man, that’s a hot recording. Probably one of the loudest records per volume level setting I have. Solid performance.
I've been working on my Aimee Mann lps from MFSL over the last two days. These, for some reason had lots of surface noise.

After multiple steamings/US cleanings, I got the noise reduced substantially. I can put my mind at ease now.
Pam Garner ‎– Pam Garner Sings Quietly (Coral 1958)

At the other end of the spectrum, this one's a lot quieter. Definitely a bunch of rows back. Gave it a bump. Better but noise floor is lifted too. Great voice. Shame it's not more in yo face!
David Knopfler "Release"  Passport Records/1983

Listened to this last evening. Decided it needed special care. It received it’s first US clean and flattening. Up now. This is a sleeper lp. Recommended!
John Mayall - The Last Of The British Blues. ABC Records 1978

Was at parts of this live recording at a club in Cincinnati while in college. Want to say the club was Bogarts IIRC. Not sure which ones, as it was recorded in three cities total. Had a lot of fun, and wasn’t expecting a hard blues-rocking crazy man John. But that’s what we got.
@bkeske Must dig that out. It's been too long. Funny that you were there. I thought I heard you hollering.
Sara Grey With Ed Trickett - S/T (Folk-Legacy 1970)

OK. You sit over in that channel, Sara, and I'll sit over in this one. We'll add in some post-echo too. Lovely.
@big_greg,

Noticed your listening to many Japanese pressings. Wondering how they, if they do, bring you more joy?

This isn’t meant to be an avenue to bash, just a way to learn. Have you compared to other pressings of same lps?

This may be a good thread topic?
