True Stories - Talking Heads
Not their best, but we loved them starting from seeing them at UCLA on the tour for their first album and True Stories is still very good.
I saw the Bobby Fuller Four when I was in high school along with the Music Machine. They were both good live bands.
@jamesclarke

I actually like Latin Quarter’s Modern Times album very much

Clock Walked Down The Stairs - Microdisney
@jamesclarke,
I liked an amount of the Crack The Sky albums.
Last night-
Modern Times - Latin Quarter
Colourbox - Colourbox
"No Promises" - Icehouse
Fundamental - Mental As Anything
Ignite The Seven Cannons - Felt
Born Tuff - Eddy Grant
what do you know? Working it out. A little MBSR meditation practice, an easy day and good music.
@jamesclarke, Thanks, but it's alright, Took a couplea punches in the last few days but it's alright. I know what going way down in an emotional oubliette is and am grateful every day that I am not back there.

The Wishing Chair - 10,000 Maniacs
Wistful and accusatory - perfect for the day adding just a touch of guilt with the celebration of the music

Lot of great music listed since I last looked. I am feeling somewhat melancholy, I would even say sad today, though it's alright.

Gold In California - Kate Wolf

I missed her almost completely when she was alive. Really sorry, as she was fine.

@reubent
Yes, it is one of Pete Townshend's best.
Workin' It Back - Teddy Pendergrass

Pack Up The Plantation - Live! Tom Petty & the HeartbreakersWhite City: A Novel Pete Townshend
People tend to refer to Caravan's In The Land Of Grey And Pink but I have always loved For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night and Cunning Stunts more
@slaw

"Every Picture Tells A Story" Rod Stewart first ever LP purchase? Fine music but it is a reminder for me how much older I am than most of you. My first LP was either "Greenback Dollar" Hoyt Axton or "Turn, Turn, Turn" Byrds. Not sure though I usually say the Byrds album.

"What Does Anything Mean? Basically" The Chameleons

Lloyd Cole & the Commotions - Easy Pieces
So, I always thought that Easy Pieces was the lesser of the two albums Lloyd Cole did w/ the Commotions only to be blown away by it tonight. This brings up something I have experienced multiple times in my life, mostly, though not exclusively, with music. At some pointwhat I experience undergoes a radical change. The funny thing for me is that it has almost always been in the same direction from thinking something is less than and then having whatever it is become hugely more moving and sensorilly (is this a real word?) powerful. It feels like magic. My aesthetics are pretty firmly grounded at this point in my life. They haven't noticeably changed in many years, but I continue to have these experiences of Wow! seemingly out of the blue. How great is that!

Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love
I bought the new box sets of her recordings, but wanted to play my old copies of her albums before hand to compare.
Like many people this one was my favorite for a long time.
@slaw

I like "Songs For Judy" but am really looking forward to further releases from Neil’s Archives.

Baggaridim - UB40
Jenny Lewis is often great,the Kasey Musgraves album is really fine as well!Dervish is a great band if you like Celtic music at all, now in their 30th year; anniversary is soon. Saw them last night in what is about a 200 seat old movie theater and the sound was excellent.
1. Triffids - the Peel Sessions -3 songs 45 rpm from May 1985
2. Golden Palominos -"Omaha" 12 in. single
3. Sugar Minott - Smile

Wow, There are so many responses so quickly that it is hard to keep up if you only jump to site in the evening. There are bunches that I would respond to though they are a ways back, I love Rosanne Cash's music and have seen her twice both time with her husband John Leventhal. And I have loved Love since the first time I heard their version of "My Little Red Book" on the radio when I was in middle school. And @tom601 Peter Tosh was one of the first reggae musicians I encountered as I widened my search after getting the opening lighter version of the first Wailers album on Island.
today so far
1. Promised Land - Dar Williams
2. Don't Stand Me Down - Dexy's Midnight Runners
3. On The Fly - Patrick Street.
Now leaving to see Dervish live at the Alberta Rose Theater. Later.

Took my two dogs for a walk  and then a pre-agility class earlier. will have to see how long I last  on this spring night in Portland.
1. Joe Higgs - Triumph on Alligator
2. Felt - Ignite The Seven Cannons the new pressing on Cherry Red
3. D.O.A, - Let’s Wreck The Party on Alternative Tentacles
4. Steady Nerves - Graham Parker early U.S. pressing
Getting old and though I love the music, sometimes my typing sucks! 70y/o in just a few months.
