Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
@slaw It's a good listen, good production, great performances, and a good quiet pressing on blue & black splattered vinyl.
I love Sarah and that song always had an influence on me.

RIP Sarah & Kenny
"Tangerine"

I remembered this song in the film Almost Famous. When my father died, I called my former friend who DJ'd at a local FM station to request this song, he refused.

I did say former friend.
The Guns N’ Roses lp is up next. Realized it was not flat. Issue now resolved.

This is my first ever Guns N" Roses purchase.

This is a Back to Black pressing, which I've always enjoyed in the past
Yo! @slaw... been streaming a bit but no time on the table until last night. Good to get away from it for a while then come back. Realize what you've been missing
As I mentioned earlier, this is my first GnR purchase. So nothing to compare. Just experience. This record commands loud volume! I do feel there may be a more 'open' pressing out there but this one fills my needs.
I really enjoy this forum. So nice to interact with people who have such great passion for music.  My only regret is that I didn’t find it sooner. I have gone back and read every post.
Peace.
Welcome Chef :-)

Over the Rhine - Blood Oranges in the Snow ( after all this is a Christmas album... of sorts )
The Ruby Braff / George Barnes Quartet (Chiaroscuro 1973)

Don Ewell Quartet ‎– Yellow Dog Blues (Audiophile 1959)

Purple Mountains "S/T"

@boxer12, once one starts listening to David Berman (RIP), it’s hard to stop.
Hey Steve @slaw , or anyone,

Do you own Band of Horses - "Acoustic at the Ryman"? Just curious about the sound quality. I borrowed it on CD from my local library and loved the performance. Had the LP in my hand back last winter (pre covid), but put it back on the shelf. Now I see they have gone way up in price. The one I was going to buy back last winter was only $17.99. Now, I can't find anything less than $89. Not going to pay that much for it, unless it is REALLY special on vinyl.....
@slaw - I love "Brother Where You Bound". I've owned it for years, love the performance and the sound quality. It's my favorite Supertramp album, by a good margin. However, I played the 12" 45rpm direct-to-disk of "Cannonball" immediately before playing the full album. After playing the 45 DtD, the album actually sounded flat and slow. I don't really think that is a knock on the album. I think it is praise for the 12" 45 rpm DtD single.
Hey @reubent,

I seem to recall a similar experience when I played a 45rpm EP of Shawn Colvin. I'll get back to you.
I too have Band of Horses on server ( from a CD rip ) and it is good. Certainly the venue doesn’t hurt , no vinyl of it tho...

Steve - what is the Colvin 45 rpm ? I certainly dig her work
