Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Severino Gazzelloni / Heinz Holliger / Jean-Pierre Rampal / I Musici Play Vivaldi / Albinoni & Quantz – Concertos By Vivaldi, Albinoni & Quantz (Philips 1973)

One of the first classical music records I owned. Looks better cleaned up with new inner and outer sleeves. The Vivaldi bassoon concerto is magnificent. An old favorite. VG++
Flush the Fashion ..... Alice Cooper.

His 80,s albums are mostly overlooked.
Cazzati, Fontana, Marini, Telemann, Gerard Schwarz ‎– A Baroque Trumpet Recital (Nonsuch 1973)
Prokofiev - Jean Martinon, Paris Conservatoire Orchestra ‎– Symphony No. 7 Opus 131 - Russian Overture Opus 72 (Decca 1971)
I actually quite like some of his 80,s stuff.
He went through some interesting phases right up until he decided he wanted a slice of MTV fame with Posion.
Roy Harper - Flat Baroque and Berserk (Harvest 1970)

If you don't know this album, you might pick up a copy.
In arrears:

Dylan - John Wesley Harding

Raising Appalachia - LeyLines

compliments of @elliottlike And like @noromance says getting records in the mail is cool !!!

more to come in the hyper generous care package
Getz / Gilberto the 45 rpm AP release

stunning

i got my HRS bits and Herron and RM-9 both isolated.....
And while picking up the HRS bits.... cruised the record room and they had Lynyrd - Second Helping 45 rpm AP release.....

holy A I am 18 again........
Someone is keeping busy there Tomic.

Noromance.... I was shocked at the big difference in SQ with what I thought was small spring changes.
I may well play some more yet.
Right now....

Looking In ..... Savoy Brown.

This has never sounded so good, I always thought his vocals were a little muffled and recessed on this album, definitely not now.
Finally getting to a disc Elliott recommended:

Kate Wolf and the Wildwood Flower - Lines on Paper

intimate, pure simple immediate sonics - lovely :-)

Nothing!
Oregon is on fire. Wish I could pack my system up, but...
We are at level one.
So far, one of my dear audiophile friends has lost his home. 2 more are in level 2.
Perhaps Crazy World of Arthur Brown's, Fire! is in order?
Per @slaw recommendation

Dave Mason - Alone Together ( 180 g remastered- so far sounds freaking fantastic )

Oregon.
Sorry to hear that sir.
Trite words I know but please stay safe.
It's definitely a crazy world out there right now.
And with an asteroid heading towards us maybe Armageddon is knocking on the door.
@oregon stay safe the treasured HiFi is a distant second to life. Our whole beloved coast seems in flames. Friends outside of Roseburg have lost homes so we emphasize - please let us know how we can help from afar - prayers and more
“ a smile that tells a story

as sad and deep as you

eyes that are the view “

OK, here goes.......

Side one of "GHS", ( mine came in somewhat warped),
First, just a little preamble, I bought my only other copy in/around 1975. Always loved it. It is not the usual Rolling Stones music afterall, but always registered with me. I think most will say this was always an underrated record because of it’s then SQ. My copy always sounded sort of muddy/dull/not much detail. So when I saw this newly re-mastered version, and given I’m a dedicated vinyl guy, it seemed to be a no-brainer.

After the first few notes on side one, I was left not knowing what to think. The SQ was just so different from my memory of this lp. As I moved forward through the first side, I realized it is much better than I was use to but my feeling is it will take many more listenings to truly understand how much better this lp is than the original or any other lp copy of this lp is..
So far, my recommendation is to turn it up to at least 1 o’clock.

Now, side 2.
Bass lines are/have been easy to follow. Nice detail. Wide soundstage. It seems so far, this record was limited to the quality of the recording studio at the time. The lyrics, the mood is/are so thoughtful and soulful which really gets to the heart of this great record and why it is to me, so special. In the end, a conservative rating will be an 8. But this record just so connects with me, it's enjoyable rating is a 9.

Lp 2 up later, and will be just "gravy".

I agree @slaw just listening to the digital the more refined rhythm guitar and drum kit are worth throwing caution to the wind and ordering Goat on vinyl
@uber there is no justice when we lose a guy like Al and the world retains..... well u know..... sad
