Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Vijay Iyer
Uneasy
Linda May Han Oh
Tyshawn Sorey
2021 ECM (Germany)

John Anderson-All The People Talking Side 1

Rufus/Featuring Chaka Khan-Rufusized Side A

Joe Venturi And George Barnes-Gems(CJ 14) Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Vision Quest-VA Side 2

The Manhattan Transfer-Mecca For Moderns Side 1

Atlanta Rhythm Section-A Rock And Roll Alternative Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Bud & Travis-...In Concert Act II

Debussy-La Mer MS 6077(6 eye) Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Either Vision Quest or Bud & Travis were the weakest SQ recordings tonight but both "Lunatic Fringe" and "Malaguena Salerosa" were very enjoyable. ARS gets the SQ crown with a very solid 3D soundstage. Great studio band!

The Miles Davis Sextet - Someday My Prince Will Come

Wowza dis sounds good. Coltrane man. Trane. Wow.

A ..tie of sorts..level match needed as the MOV is cut much hotter….without that the MOV is the stuff of legendary hyperbole, a $29 “ hot stamper “. OP is less defined, more gritty, richly toned, better bass, better defined easy to follow bass line. The MOV shines in definition, microdetail, shimmer, clarity, high end extension and scale and depth of stereo image… JJ Cale  Troubadour shootout complete. Collect em all and win !

Hey Sbank

Brown and big pink albums @ 45rpm sound amazing! I'll spin those next 👍

JJ Cale - Troubadour - OP vs Music on Vinyl post Degritter…..

The Best of Mountain. It seemed appropriate to put this one on the SL-1200 MK2.

On a Fat Freddy’s drop kick lately.  Exploring them.  They have a lot of material out and it varies widely.

Funny, you guys playing The B-52s.  While tuning my skis in the garage, yesterday, I played that CD on my garage system.  I have a very early pp on vinyl.  Now I'll have to clean it and play it.  That album did well with parties at my first house, on a really big hi-fi system.  Lots of fun...

Procol Harum - Broken Barricades

Stevie Wonder - Talking Book  A bit heavy on the bass, but what a great album.

Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat  Impex reissue, killer SQ. Great album!

Kari Kirkland - Wild Is The Wind. She's really good and the vinyl and packaging are first rate. Recommended.

@dayglow it was a pretty good pressing that I just picked up at the local record store for 5 bucks!

In my just arrived pile is Kari Kirkland - Wild is the Wind.  One of our music club members brought a really cool cover of Do It Again to play at our most recent meetup.  She included a nice handwritten note on a postcard with my record.  Who does that?  I hope to listen to the rest of the album today.  Check her out if you haven't heard her.

The Beat / S-T
1979 Columbia

Later renamed Paul Collin’s Beat, this is some righteous Power Pop! Like the cover says, “Play It Loud!”

@slaw Thanks for mentioning the B-52’s!

the B-52’s / S-T
1979 Warner Bros.
It’s hard to keep your feet still playing this record…

Pink Floyd / The Wall
1979 Columbia

Playing start to finish. It’s been a while for that, lots of good music on this double LP. Interesting details like Gomer Pyle on TV in the background. Comfortably Numb, two thumbs up!  SQ above average. Coming up now on the wall being blown to bits…

I am looking for to my return home. Listening to vinyl and to get more excitement back here!

Still streaming, for now ...

B-52s "Live! 8-24-1978"

Never would've appreciated this band back then. Love it!

On a roll with JJ ; Guitar Man and to close out the night Naturally……

@j_husker

Wharf Rat and Not Fade Away never disappoint.

Never. Two of my all time favs as well. And no, nothing compares to have seen them, with Jerry, play both and more, live.

Rare Earth - "In Concert"

The "Backpack" is still one of my favorite record jackets of all time. And it just a great live album.

Congrats on nice box set Steve !

catching up;

JJ Cale - Troubadour and then “5”
