Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
@reubent

Interesting that you mentioned Guy Clark. I just got in Steve Earle’s latest "Guy". Two artists that I don’t have enough of.
...…......…………….........……………......
Big Thief "Masterpiece"
Steve Earle & The Dukes "Guy"
I'm on my first listen but wanted to make a comment.....SQ is very nice but the soundstage doesn't extend any further out than the inner edge of the speakers. This, along with Steve's low key, gravelly voice, doesn't seem quite right to me.
...............….I enjoyed the 2nd lp more upon first listen. Looking forward to another whirl after flattening.
Frank Black & The Cadillacs "Show Me Your Tears" Diverse Records/SQ = EX
REM  - Life's Rich Pageant - Mofi - very very good after ultrasonic cleaning

Derek and the Dominoes- Layla- went from G to VG+ after the US cleaning

Howdy @slaw , I like that choice of Trick of the Tale,  love that record
Bit the bullet and got an US setup, the results are impressive so far

Dire Straits  -  Love over Gold  - OP
Hi @6t5-gto,

I noticed that my friend. Welcome to the club! What unit did you get?

I had nothing much to do last night so I went to YouTube and watched Genesis...behind the music. That inspired my record choice earlier. I think an original press would sound fantastic! It surely deserves a professional remastering.

Thanks @slaw  one step at time. But I see why you are so convinced.
I got the same 1.6L unit that is linked from the CleanerVinyl site that everyone recommends but I did the Vinyl Stack system, which I am liking a lot but I wish I had done the unit that does 4 at a time instead of three.
I don't want to soil this thread with cleaning discussion so I will send you a PM to understand your 'presteaming' treatment a little better

U2- The Unforgettable Fire  - OP now VG+
Sade  - Promise  - OP  EX
Kraftwerk  - Trans  Europe Exp  - OP  - NM
Oh, and I have an original MFSL copy of TotT, it is M, I got it from my buddy Matt that has one of the biggest, if not the biggest,  Genesis/Gabriel/ Collins.... collections in the world. I will check and see if he has an extra UK or US pressing, he had an extra MFSL copy and he has at least one of every OP from every country that released one. I bet a UK OP sounds better than the Mofi
Walter Trout "The Blues Came Callin’"  SQ = EX
.........………......
@6t5-gto,

I’d appreciate anything you could do.
The Delines "The Imperial". Similar to the Cowboy Junkies with better songs. Also, it gets my vote for one of the records of year so far. Amy Boone's voice is delicate & soulful. Their first album "Colfax" is also brilliant, but no vinyl. SQ on both is outstandinding.
Walter Trout is the real deal !!!
he and Bob Margolin....

i have Tidal working as I read

written in my soul - Bill Flanagan
interviews w 29 of Rock’s great songwriters....
@dhawks,

Thanks, that sounds right in my wheelhouse. However if no vinyl, that will preclude me.
@tomic601 ,

"The Blues Came Callin’" is an exceptional blues lp. Something about it doesn’t seem to be "the same ol’ thing". Excellent musicionship really helps.
@slaw shoot, I don't have Premium access so I guess it has been a while since I sent a PM from the forum? I can't send a PM to you

Talking Heads  - Speaking in Tongues  - OP,  totally awesome , NM
XTC  - English Settlement  - OP  EX+
@6t5-gto,

I think if you click on my name/moniker, you'll then see several options. One is, send a member a message. Try that.
My lp playing progression has been interrupted by unforeseen issues. In the meantime, Fleet Foxes "Crack-Up"

Hey @builder3

Glad you’re here.
@6t5-gto,

I just sent you a message that you may be able to connect with.
I set up my Project RPM9 table with the Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood cartridge for a demo to a potential buyer tomorrow.

Playing Queen - A Night at the Opera, sounds great!
@slaw right now my main rig is a JVC ql-y66f with a Kiseki Blue cartridge. Phono stage is a Manley Chinook.
@big_greg,

I assume the JVC is a 70’s direct drive? The arm...I assume is a stock arm? If so, how do you manage those two components? (the stock arm & Kiseki)
@slaw  sorry for slow response, took a break to have dinner with the Mrs.
Sent you a message, I will check to see if I have one from you
Queen Jazz
Doug MacLeod Exactly Like This (Reference Recording 45)
Gerry Raferty City to City
Seal Seal
Santana Abraxas
Jennifer Warnes The Well Limited Edition boxed 45 (the additional songs on the 45 are outstanding!
Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac (A++, A+++)
Harry Nilsson Nilsson Schmilsson (A++)
Jimmy Buffet pina colada. Okay technically that went in me not on the platter. One hell of a fine afternoon/evening of listening.
Slaw, I like your choices.

I was playing Vic Chestnut's "Drunk" album yesterday for the first time in a random while and was stunned on how nice the mastering/pressing was.     It sounded wonderful.

Looking forward to getting Panic's Till the Medicine Takes next week.
Hey @timsteinlein,

Never listened to Panic before. I bought several of Vic's lps a while back since they were offered as re-masters and I never had a chance to buy them previously. "West of Rome" sounds EX!
