I got my new (to me) JVC QL-Y66F turntable yesterday and set it up last night.  I started up with a not so great copy of Lynryd Skynrd's Gold and Platinum and followed with AC/DC's Highway to Hell (also a bit beat up).  Both records sounded better with a good bath on the VPI and the turntable sounds REALLY nice for what I paid for it and I love the way it looks.  It's really sensitive to airborne vibrations and I'm going to try to do some damping on the plinth so that I can play it louder and clean up the bass.
@slaw

Songs for Judy is great. Intimate acoustic music. Excellent vinyl pressing and as good as Live At The Cellar Door
@yc25,

Thanks. Welcome to the thread.

@bob82,

Welcome to the thread. I own that Van Halen, SQ is great!

Brandi Carlile "The Story"
My replacement copy sounds great so far.
Just trying out another TT.
Dual 1019 with Shure 91E cart but unfortunately a generic replacement stylus.

Even so it sounds pretty darn good, good enough to warrant purchase of a Jico SAS stylus.

Testing with pristine copy of Aja ... Steely Dan
@uberwaltz,

You realize you’re asking a huge TP fan? Haha.

I own the OP/lp of Wildflowers. Just on content alone, Highly Recommended! I can’t compare it to a cd...sorry.

I don't believe it was an analog recording.
@Slaw
On content obviously it is sky high and if you are happy with the vinyl SQ it works for me!

Next up

Tap Root Manuscript ... Neil Diamond

@reubent
Cleaned this one up as we talked about few days ago and it really is very good indeed!

Welcome @gardners501
Lyle Lovett - Pontiac. Saw him with John Hiatt last night. Wonderful show!
Deceptive Bends .... 10cc.

Original Mercury issue in excellent shape, great SQ on this one.

Really sounding good on this old Dual table.
Post removed
Miles Davis "Sketches of Spain" /mono ..... a fairly recent pressing @ RTI
Mary Gauthier "Rifles & Rosary Beads"   finally out on vinyl. Yea!

I noticed that, while the lp came in a Quality Records anti-static inner sleeve, there are no identifying marks or in the liner notes of this record being pressed at QRP.
The MG lp is great in terms of song writing. The sonics are sadly one (half) notch below her other lps I own. That’s not to say I did not enjoy it. She has to be in the top ranks of female songwriters today.
Will have to give that MG album a whirl on Tidal first Slaw.

For now;

Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Live with Four Cellos.

Seriously you have to hear what noise 4 guys with cellos can make! Only other instrument is occasional drums. You have bass cello, rhythm cello and screaming lead cello!

It's out there imho.
Szymanowski ,Violin  Concerto No.1Played by the Great Wanda Wilkommirska and the Warsaw Philhamonic
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Pink Floyd - DSOTM
Radiohead - OK Computer

Good afternoon
