Maher's 9th Symphony

Karajan conducting the Berliner Philharmoniker

1981?

I listen as an hommage to Lewis Thomas. His collected essays, Late Night Thoughts on Listening to Mahler's 9th Symphony has shaped my thinking on our relationships to the biological world.

Small Faces / Playmates
1977 Atlantic

Records like this is why I have a turntable, fun stuff!

Mott The Hoople / All The Young Dudes
1972 Columbia

Great content, sonics. Bowie on sax. Nice version of “Ready For Love”, later fine tuned by writer Mick Ralphs after he left Mott and founded Bad Company.

I stopped planing my listening sessions years ago

@slaw I truly appreciate you putting the LP info... that is very helpful.

@dayglow I love how you post your SQ comments.

I know it takes extra time to add these types of comments, but when able to I think many members would find it to be of such a great benefit.

Thank you both for your wonderful and contributions to this forum!

Best wishes to all,

Don

Barbra Streisand-Superman Side 2

Ravel-Bolero/Ma Mere L'oye(Mercury SR-90005) Side 1+2 SQ Audiophile

Dan Fogelberg-The Innocent Age Side 2

Judas Priest-Unleashed In The East Side 2

Ricky Skaggs-Comin' Home To Stay Side 1

Tanita Tikaram-Ancient Heart Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Joe Williams-Live Side 1

Sister Sledge-We Are Family Side 2

Every recording had above average SQ. Priest might have had the worst SQ tonight but not bad for metal or so-called live recording. My Living Presence is a VG garage sale find but still shows its potential despite all the wear and tear takes the SQ crown.  @no_regrets  I always post SQ comments but rarely get to specific due to all systems are different.

Wilco - A Ghost is Born

Rhino pressing - not too shabby. Awesome album except for the track Less than You Think.

George Wein’s Newport Jazz Festival Allstars.

Just came in the mail today and got a bath.  1963 promo copy stereo pressing.

@no_regrets ,

I always put lp info and save SQ info for an interaction if one so chooses.

I think the concept of this thread is pretty cool... sharing a great variety of music that member's are enjoying on their tables.  It's great to even see the pictures of the record sleeve!

I was wondering if I could make a suggestion....

In addition to showing the pic of the sleeve, would it be possible for you to add a comment as to the sound quality of that particular pressing.  That added information could really inspire some of to search out a copy to add to our collections or could save us by not searching it if you felt the pressing/sound quality wasn't desirable.

Just a thought...

Thank you and best wishes to all,

Don
