James how’s the ORG Heavy Weather vs. OG?

@sbank its interesting. It’s more transparent and revealing of small detail but less atmospheric. It loses some midrange richness and liquidity from the original. Soundstage is deeper with better separation but there is definitely more treble. So, I’m glad to have it but, on this, perhaps more than on any other record we listen for The tone of the bass in its upper registers and harmonics. Jaco baby. And I think the emotion of that comes through stronger on my OP.

@bslon take action on @slaw’s PM!

@spiritofradio James how’s the ORG Heavy Weather vs. OG?

@mammothguy54 Gorgeous! Please tell us everything...

@slaw Coexist good music, poor SQ...not worth the cost of vinyl except awesome die-cut cover if you care. Stream it.

Eagles / Desperado
1973 Asylum

Just another one of many high fidelity, high quality Eagles albums.

Loggins And Messina / S-T
1972 CBS

Lots of musicians and instruments, including Rusty Young on steel dobro. Great album, songs, sonics, and imaging. Nice percussion, guitar, bass, sax, flute, etc. on finale “Angry Eyes”.

Poco / Legend
1978 ABC

More of a pop sound than debut Pickin’ Up The Pieces with Rusty Young being the only original member. Still, this is their best selling album. Adequate SQ. Cover art by graphic artist and later comedy actor Phil Hartman.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young—Dallas Taylor & Greg Reeves / Déjà vu
1970 Atlantic

Speaking of Classics…Ran it through the cleaner again and minus a couple pops it sounds pretty fantastic.

The Byrds / Mr. Tambourine Man
1999 Sundazed RE, orig. 1965

A Classic. Decent SQ, quiet vinyl by Sundazed. Welcome back to the 60’s!

1. Royal Ballet Chad edition. Yes, this is one you want.

2. Kna conducting the Vienna Philharmonic in Wagner.

Gotterdammerung Dawn and Siegfried’s Rhine Journey. Siegfried’s Funeral Music.

Tristan Prelude and Liebestod.

Decca Japan GT 9088.

First time hearing a record reproduce the Viennese.

* Same bleeding chunks as on Sheffield’s direct to disk with Leinsdorf and the LA Phil that was the go to demo disk in the last century.

** Birgit Nilsson soprano.

Wagner, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Hans Knappertsbusch – Wagner Album - Vol.1 (1977, Vinyl) - Discogs

There they are in their home stadium The Golden Hall, Vienna.

These records leave spectacular so far behind in the rear view mirror and make the quantum leap into the realm of pure music. Bravo Decca!

@mammothguy54 +1 Congrats on your speaker purchase. I’m in the process of upgrading my current speakers. I hope the manufacturers realize the time/effort and emotional involvement required in purchasing the most difficult(flawed)audio component.

Unwound / Empire (box set)

Picked this one up today from a record store in Kalamazoo Michigan.

Sonic Youth / In out in

BTW - That last one (Lambchop / Showtunes) is a solid album. One of the best the bands recorded in some time. SQ is good as well.

The new 2022 version Apollo 11 V-3 is what I got.

They are run for a few hours at the factory.  I have the next 80 hours to get them going well and about 300 + hours to fully settle in the electronics.  It's a process.

I'm just about to fire up the first LP.  Drum roll...........

@mammothguy54 If I remember you were considering the Apollo 11 or Poseidon. Those are 125lbs, I hope you have some help! Way cool either way, enjoy!

Hey guys, my speakers arrived (FINALLY!!!).  I'm setting them up today and will play a few albums later on.  I will be happy to report at that time😃

Great session last night with a friend and fellow music enthusiast. Three or four songs off each album.
