Was a little lazy this afternoon enjoying a 4 CD playback prior to vinyl night and did not feel like cleaning 8 unplayed albums Close call but CJ 189 takes the SQ crown over Steve/Eydie a budget bin gem.

ELO Out of the Blue

Finally set up my cheap eBay Ultrasonic RCM tonight after looking at the box for nearly 2 years. Shakedown cruise was on 2 really old, beat to $hit records that were handed down to me by my sisters who are now in their early 70s. First one up is...

John Lennon - "Imagine"

Confirmed, I still don't like it, but it does sound somewhat better than the last time I listened to it. Cleaning can't fix scratches, etc., but it was somewhat more quiet.

Next out of the URCM is Crosby Stills and Nash - S/T. Beat up, original, beat up copy from 1969. Lots of scratches, but more listenable than I remember from pre-Ultrasonic cleaning. Musically excellent.

"A Celebration of Duke" Pablo Today

2024/Analog Productions - Pablo Series

Count Basie Kansas City 3 "For the Second Time"

2024/Analog Productions-Pablo Series

@slaw - Should have set up the US RCM a long time ago. I thought it would be more complicated than it turned out to be. Need to go back and read some of the old threads about folks process/procedures.

Willie Nelson - "Willie and Family Live"

Really fantastic record. Probably my favorite Willie Album...

Canned Heat/Canned Heat Blues Band

2021/Friday Music

A Robert Lucas led, cover band

@slaw   Is the 75 series Yes-90125 a worthy upgrade in SQ over the original pressing?

Paula Cole "This Fire"

2021/Warner Records

25th anniversary/1st time on vinyl

Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians "Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars"

Geffen

Eagles-Live Side 3 SQ Audiophile

Jackie And Roy-Star Sounds(CJ 115) Side 1 SQ*

Roseanne Cash-The List Side B SQ*

Journey-Frontiers Side 1

Rare Silk-Black & Blue Side 2

Beethoven-Symphony No.4(Vienna/Schmidt CS 6512) Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Joni Mitchell-Wild Things Run Fast Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Triumph-Never Surrender Side 2

With 3 Audiophile SQ recordings and 2 near misses makes for a well above average SQ night. Journey/Triumph are very well recorded for Pop/Rock. Rare Silk had a little digital sharpness that keep it from SQ* status. Too close for a definitive SQ winner tonight but the edge goes to the Eagles.

The Cars "S/T"

a RCA music club version I chose to keep, after a personal shoot-out years ago. Sold my MFSL. Have since bought the Rhino high fidelity issue.
