Windy was not an album. However it did appeared on their third album "Insight Out". |
My wife and I are 95% classical listeners so these are mine (generally when She's not home): Rock:
Van Halen - 1984. Elton John - just turned down the lights and totally blasted Funeral For a Friend the other night! (wife included for that one). Neil Diamond - Greatest Hits
My Classical dirty laundry: The Canadian Brass - Four Seasons
Other: Brass Ring - Disadvantages of You
BTW - The whole Windy album is great - IMO, Windy isn't even one of the best tracks on the lp. |
...sometimes when the lights are down low and weve imbibed in a mind altering beverage or three...I listen to digital...and I derive pleasure from it...erp... |
I hate everthing "The Association' did....except for Windy. |
I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die. Oh, wait, that wasn't me. |
I like Stan Getz, Joni Mitchell, Miles, Bob Marley, Yo La Tengo and others but when I'm home alone with a private listening session ahead of me I sometimes have to pull out the HAWKWIND and up the volume to 11. SPACE IS DEEP! SONIC ATTACK! How did Howard Dean say it... EEeehhaawww!!! Sure hope I don't get any phone calls! |
You left the door wide open Artie, I simply walked in. :-) |
Stan, I keep hoping, waiting that *someday* we'll get to see some self-depricating humor from you, but doubt we'll ever see the day.... |
Maybe she'll do it first. Imagine how she must feel. |
oh, I'm more ashamed of crap I *used to* listen to, than stuff I still indulge in. Occasionally, for s-its and giggles, I'll put on some *later-era* Genesis or any Phil Collins, or some really limp 'smooth jazz' like Grover Washington Jr or Flim and the BB's, but usually only when I feel queazy, but am too lazy to put my finger down my throat -this stuff usually does it.
In fact, I'm going to go home and simply throw that crap away, right after I smack my momma for giving birth to such a tasteless child. |
Oh yeah? I'll see your Glen Campbell and raise you a Bobby Rydell. :-) |
I always win this one. Glen Campbell. 'nough said. |
I still have my original Petula Clark vinyl. "Dowtown", "Color My Wolrd" - yeah baby!
I have a soft spot for 60's pop, and that includes the Turtles, Monkey's "Last Train to Clarksville" and lot other stuff.
Needless to say, I have all the Nuggets CDs. |
Ah, memory lane... sometimes I'll time warp back to high school and listen to some Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, you get the point, the 70's-80's metal. It winds up being a session, really. Not a dirty little secret, but a fun one none the less. |
I'm not ashamed. That would entail knowing all of the words of all of the songs from 5 albums. :-)
Not that there's anything wrong with that. |
Wc65mustang, Nothing to be ashamed of, IMO. I play bass in a 60's band called "Moondawgs" which gets hired for a lot of classic cars related functions in So. Cal. Our repertoire includes "Deadman's Curve", "Summer Means Fun", "Surf City", and "Drag City", and although we're no Jan & Dean, we got the vocals and harmonies down pretty well. The people still love those catchy tunes. |
Once in a blue moon I break out one of my Jan and Dean albums. And yes to those who wonder, I have more than one. :-) |
Ambrosia - did I say that? |
Hey wait a minute Jndean, I still like The Monkey's "I'm A Believer", and the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City". I must be a nerd but, that kind of stuff leaves great memories. Maybe it's cause we grew up with tons of vinyl records in the house or something. Cheers! |
How about Ray Conniff, Bert Kaempfert, the Four Freshmen and the Three Suns? I've been known to mix them in with Throbbing Gristle, the Residents, Gang of Four, X, etc. on compilation cassettes. They're like my own demented music programs, yet I enjoy them without irony. I do, however, like this music on its own, as well......I believe it's therapeutic. |
|
Heh, I know... I'm waiting for people from the asylum to pick me up... |
That's just plain sick Yr44...even if you're joking! |
Listening to Barney the dinosaur's song (the one that goes "i love you, you love me, &c"). |
Back Street Boys, "I want it that Way".*>) |
Nick Gilder Hot Child in the City |
Elb: Figures that willy nelson would write that song. I've got a soft spot for it as well. I heard the working title was "The Green Connection" but he was worried people would think he was singing about money (as if anyone could make that mistake when it comes to Willy and Green!). |
Kermit the frog's hit song "Rainbow Connection". Did you know that it was written by Willie Nelson? He sings it on his CD, "Songs of Willie Nelson". Isn't it great that he wrote that! |
I, umm, have this friend who really likes "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. He, I mean she, sings really loudly along with Steve Perry on that line, "the smell of wine and cheap perfume." I mean, how dorky is that, huh? |
The Monkey's "I'm A Believer", Frankie Valli's "Walk Like a Man", Pablo Cruise's "Ocean Breeze", Kitty Kalen's "Little Things Mean Alot", the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" and Sam Cooke's "You Send Me". John |
Every now and again, I will pull out my 1976 LP of Gene Cotton "Rain on"..this one for memory lane. |
Well, I don't know if I can top "Windy" but here goes... I kinda liked Sophie B. Hawkins- "Damn I wish I was your Lover" from Tongues and Tails and when I found out that she was also into the girl thing, I liked her even better! Don't tell anybody...ok?! Hmmmmm |
I like listening- occasionally- to Lisa Loeb, and Gunbei when he's wearing a pair of her underwear :) |
Windy was my first audiophile recording and the unanimous selection of my first audio club. It was 6th grade, and all the club members had $3 transistor radios. We would run the earphone cords up our shirtsleeve in class and discretely plug in the earpiece so the teacher couldn't see it. If I remember, that teacher ended the year with quite a collection of $3 transistor radios. Thanks for bringing back the memory, its not something I would normally think about. And no, I do not still rock out to "Windy!" |
"Giving Grease a Ride" from Mike McGear's 1974 album done with the help of his brother, Paul McCartney. What a tune!! |
I like wearing men's underwear.
The great thing is that no one knows I have them on. |
Marc Anthony (he got better after gettin' his J.low) |
The Cowsills,,,just one song,,,, "The Rain the Park and Other Things"I love a flower girl,,,,,, for some reason i cant get enough of this song,, |
