Totem Forrest - old but still good

I am surprised to see Totem is still selling from Totem website.  These speakers have been around for a really long time.  The first time I listened to them, I was really impressed with the sound.

I still toy with getting a pair of Arros simply because the ones I had 20 years ago were so good.

Had them in system for roughly 15 years and, yes, they are still good.  Recently added a Simaudio Ace, which mates very well with them (Canadian synergy?).  I was concerned about Sim's 50 wpc but that has not been an issue at all.  Small footprint makes them well suited to NYC apartment living, particularly given relatively full range performance.

According to Totem, the Forest has undergone "evolutionary changes and updates" over 15 years...while the Totem Signature is more revolutionary...

The Seas H400 can be exceptional.  Not too difficult to tame at all.  Not that there aren't better options now, but it can be really good.

Yeah, does anyone know where the aluminum tweeter was sourced from?  I remember I've read it somewhere that is is from Seas.

Just shows that excellent design and high-quality parts can endure successfully without needing updates every two years or so.  That said, I am a little surprised the Forest still soldiers on with an aluminum tweeter, even if it’s a really good one.

I have a ten year old set of Mites in my office… great sounding, cost effective, beautiful speakers. Glad to see Forest still available.

Great sound for the price. Hard to beat the performance at it's price point. They can only give so much but they really are up there on the value scale
