Yes. My setup has run for many years. A week ago we had a 5 hour power outage. Since then the remote cannot find the base. All it sees is Squeezebox.com. I have pushed the button on the base to make it blink red until my finger is red. I have set the remote to factory status many times. I have connected it to my network many times. The remote just never lists my base as one of the Players. |
Have you tried using a web browser on a computer on your network if you have one as the controller to connect to LMS and see if your Squeezebox duet shows there? In any case, most streamers you would replace an older SB with wiki use an app that runs on a smartphone tablet or other device as controller/remote and will display Whatever art or tags are available. |
Virtually any streamer. Load piCore player (free) onto a RasPi ($100 on up) Gives you full blown LMS with UPnP. It should see your PC. If you put your music on a local drive you can see it and load it via WiFi anywhere on the network with your PC. Probably can on iOS too but I would not know or care how. Make sure you put it on a surge protector. |
something like: http://192.167.1.237:9000/ ip address of computer running the Logitech Media server and port 9000 Players connected to the server should show in dropdown menu in the upper right. If not try restarting Logitech Media Server and if still not there rebooting the Squeezebox. |
The drop down shows no players. The Duet box is connected by Ethernet. The remote gives me an option for wireless or Ethernet. I choose Ethernet and it never finishes looking. If I select Wireless it finally gives up saying it can’t find my network. Even though an earlier setting showed my network pre-selected. |
Well, switched base units and remote. Pushed button on base to get blinking red. Remote was showing the web site as player then up popped the base. Selected it and then chose Ethernet. After a bit the remote indicated it had connected to the base. Everything worked except there was no audio out from the base. I know the rest of the audio system works because if I touch the RCA plug I get hum from the system. |
I have a Squeezebox Duet hooked up to a Bose Lifestyle 10. It's been marvelous for about 15-20 years or so but, now, the receiver doesn't seem to work. There's a tiny, flickering red glow inside the receiver but no light functioning on the outside-(that ittle light that turns vafious colors). My remote won't recognize the unit. The other night, the unit did function for a short while but it functions no longer. I think the receiver is dead. If I buy another receiver, can I just plug it in and expect it to work or do I need to download drivers? Or- would it be a better idea to buy some sort of a Bluetooth unit to hook up. My main objective is to get the Internet so I can listen to Tune In or something else that will get me thousands of radio stations. |
