It'll be fine. I've had the same issue with my DAC and it's no problem performance-wise.
@roxy54 thanks. I brushed a microscopic amount of deoxit and it cut the distance in half so I’m leaving it. Nothing exploded (yet). thanks 😊 |
You should have received a slip of paper with the cable noting that the connector can be very tight. That’s so that an excellent grip can be achieved. In cases where it’s very tight, I believe it’s recommending that you gently insert and remove a wooden toothpick between the three pairs of gripper plates. A little at a time, as you don’t want to loosen it too much. Just be sure the toothpick is strong enough so that it doesn't break. Not sure about the alternative of using a small flathead screwdriver. It's metal on metal, but then the connector to the socket is metal on metal too. |
@twoleftears I did indeed. I was unsuccessful in this but it’s probably due to my lack of experience. The first power cord took some effort but nothing like this. I love the effect these cords have and I have to say I agree with those who said power cords were as/nearly as big an improvement as speaker cable. I didn’t and still don’t completely understand why or how, but love that they do. |
I agree that a PC can play a significant role in a component or system's sound. Can you elaborate on the sonic signature of the AE Ocean 3P? |
@lowrider57 I am hearing greater clarity, wider channel separation and lower bass than I was previously getting. Very happy. All my cables are AE except for power cables I have yet to replace. |

Glad for this discussion. It got me to order the Audio Envy PC for my Jay's cdt2-mk3. Somehow, after all the improvements I made to my NODE (Pardo with Shunyata pc plus green computer optical isolation bundle for ethernet cable feed and soborthane hemisphere isolation feet on all), my streaming setup now has more clarity than the Jay's. Stupid me, I didn't bother upgrading the pc on the Jay's when I got it. I am sure the Audio envy pc will be the improvement in clarity I need. I already got all Audio Envy XLR and their phono cable and they are definitely an excellent value price to performance. |
