I’m curious about this product from Perfect Path Technologies and would like to hear from those that have experience with it. I’ve bought and used the Total Contact enhancer and like what it does for my system so I’m interested in hearing how this Omega E mat performs.
Never expected to be happy about working away for a week at a time but...
It is almost like having a new to me system when I revisit the main rig after a weeks absence and letting the TC paste and emats/cards do their stuff while gone! Just sublime this afternoon.
As I continue discovering new places to paste with TC, I have an ongoing experience with the TC "curing" and the sound improving over time. Just finished listening to a CD with Chet Baker and Bill Evans. Glorious!
I just decided to take a lie down and listen to some music more in the background. So I chose the bedroom which has the 3rd system in which is very simple and basic.
Holy moly, was seriously unprepared for what I heard. I had always considered this rig to be somewhat dull and lacking sparkle and oomph. Not now heck no. 3 different albums in and I am still not relaxing with it as background music as was the initial intent. Thoroughly enjoying it is what is occurring! I am deeply impressed at changes wrought by TC paste only that has been curing for just under a week now.
The accolades are pouring in---just added a fourth mat and two e-cards, all under the ARC Ref 210's, mats in back, cards in front. Still have two under the Wadia 861 SE GNSC. What I am hearing already: new information between the main instruments, which are richer and more rounded. The inner detail of musical flourishes in a production that I had not been hearing are amazing. It's as if I am now hearing digital's "dark matter", a hidden tapestry of sound that completes my aural perception. No one can convince me now that analog is superior--the digital glare must be that part of the signal that cannot be transmitted---until now. The PPT products are allowing better digital resolution of the signal path, and this from an older player and more mats needed to cover the spaces under all the gear. My thanks to Tim and Krissy for what they are producing!
"It's as if I am now hearing digital's "dark matter", a hidden tapestry of sound that completes my aural perception. No one can convince me now that analog is superior-- "
Couldn't have said it better. I listen to mostly CD's now. Never thought I'd ever say that, but red book CD's (when properly recorded) sound amazing ... and so ... so ... so ... analog like. :-)
Last monday I received 3 emats and 3 ecards. As I want to modify one thing at a time, I only put 2 emats under the Torus AVR16.
This is a big 22 ‘’ deep and 125 Lb baby tht makes me think 2 are needed. I sticked one directly under the transfo and the other one (under also), but nearer the electrical inputs.
I’ll install the third Emat in 3 weeks in the house breaker where there is one already installed.
Ecards are sticked 1 behind the IPad and 2 under the router waiting to settle in the batteries PSU of my TW Acustic Raven AC.
So for the first 3 or 4 days things navigated from good to strange. Sometimes good on some messages and sometimes odd and uncomfortable. Yesterday things began to settle down and made me think the best is still to come and this idea made me feel happy. I’ll say more in a few weeks but what shoke me the most was the feeling of proximity with the singers and musicians. This « global » impression comes from objective parameters (highs, medium, naturalness, etc) that contribute to this, but the only interesting thing is the global result, meaning musical pleasure. That’s what all of us are looking for I guess ?
Its good to see some new people talking about their experience with the e mats and tc. Just remember the sound will get better as time goes on. I now have 8 mats and a set of e cards and the sound I am getting is unbelievable. I have never been happier with a tweak then with the combo of e mats and tc. My speakers have vanished and my soundstage is around the whole room like never before, very happy.
Carefull what you say as some would have you believe you are being self centered for spending money on tweaks and that you cannot possibly be hearing what you are hearing.
All this without ever trying any of these tweaks themselves.
Just enjoy the music as I do and let the naysayers go fly a kite in a hurricane!
Last night's session was fantastic. The TC pasted power conditioner and speaker crossovers are really coming into their own. Also, the E Cards on the power cords are paying off now too. I'm beginning to wonder just how close to real performers in space can these good red book CD's get? I'm in awe.
Good afternoon! <3 The main system is eight days magnet free today. <3 WOWSERS <3 The music is so pure and full of life. Hard to believe it could get any clearer~ did the noise floor drop again? Special thanks to the audiophile who inspired Tim to place 10 mats under each component. I might need a few more for my car. lol. <3 We love reading your experiences with these products. <3 Enjoy the music. <3 Krissy <3
It's been 8 days since I removed the MC-0.5 from my system, so the lingering effects should be gone. I have to agree with you, what a difference it has made! Thanks for spurring Tim on to remove them.
10 mats under each component?! I think I need to get down your way to hear that.
"When are the flexible collars coming out to wrap around all manner of audio cords? Yes, this is a good idea "
Good thinking, grannyring. I had the thought last night wondering if there would be some way to use Tim's technology on shorting plugs on the unused RCA inlets on the back of line stages. Maybe I'll get some shorting plugs and paste them with TC. You never know ...
Good morning to everyone! I have already received several bundle inquires. If you are a previous customer you may substitute the TC kit for a another deck of E Cards or a $300 credit for a additional E mat. The customer will always be our number one priority!
@aniwolf keep the feedback coming! Our webmaster saw your post, as of this morning speed has doubled, and will further increase in the days to come.
Also wanted to thank our Webmaster, Diego Puerta of New Zealand, he took a blank slate and built this beautiful site! He has big plans and the site will continue to evolve, thanks Diego, your the BEST!
Last thing I wanted to mention, all domestic shipping is FREE, all international shipping is a flat 29.99.
Thank you for all of your continued support and business
More fun last night. The sound quality advanced even further.
I have a small circuit breaker panel in the closet of my master bedroom that I had completely forgotten about. I put an E Mat in there yesterday. Zowie! More of everything we like. The picture on the TV improved again too.
Frank
PS: Tommylion ... thanks for the heads up on the plugs. :-)
Listening to Rippington’s "Welcome To the St. James Club", an all-digital recording from 1990 on the GRP label, an early adopter of DDD recordings, e.g., Dave Grusin and Lee Ritenour’s very listenable "Harlequin" is from 1985. Despite the synthesized trappings of the era, this album has amazing percussion dynamics and staging, better heard with the two additional E mats, placed only a week ago.
Tim …… tried to contact you by both email and by your contact form on your website but so far no response. Maybe you're really busy with new orders / website?
<3 Hey there! Timmy stepped out today for a fun project he's been working on. . . try calling him again, he should be back home. He always makes time for customers. It's the best part! <3 603-203-4486. <3 <3 Peter Murphy came ALIVE last night, almost spooky. <3 SO real. <3 Thanks to everyone for your patience while we grow! <3 Krissy
"... this album has amazing percussion dynamics and staging, better heard with the two additional E mats, placed only a week ago..."
Haven't heard the particular album you alluded to, but I'm experiencing percussion like never before. Some of my Arthur Lyman recordings are so dynamic with all of the bongos, congas, vibes, jungle sound effects are ... simply amazing.
Ordered the "modest bundle," which contains: one e-mat, five a-cards and the TC. So where to put this stuff? The e-mat in the breaker, and one card each on Audience PC, phono-pre, Decware amp, Zrock2, and/or Linear Tube Audio pre or its powers supply. You can see my stereo https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/7335, and I appreciate any thoughts you might share. Cheers
jmolsberg, I can't say I have compared the mat at the breaker panel vs all mats at equipment, but I sure have good results favoring sensitive equipment--try the big mat under larger amp or phono stage the rest under smaller pieces, etc. You will instantly say, "I need more mats." They are that good. Paint all connections with the TC, including prongs on power cords, interconnects, speaker spades, etc., and please post your progress and results. It' going to be fun.
The teeny tiny little brush on the applicator works for me. But it depends on what the connector looks like as to whether there’s any risk. For Audioquest Carbon HDMI connector there is no risk of creating a short inside the connector. A tooth pick proved futile, as fate would have it.
Hi there. Consulted with Tim on this one.... he really can't advise using the provided brush on the tiny pins of HDMI connection. No offense, of course. <3 Hey, maybe I don't have your neurosurgeon skills with the brush..... but for the sake of the Jackson Pollock painters out there, Tim advises against it. <3 Kind regards, Krissy
No problemo. It’s like applying the stuff to tube pins ... It’s not for everyone. There is some risk of shorting. On the other hand, no goats, no glory. 🐐 🐐
Helpful hint to anyone trying it, don’t load up on coffee prior to. 😬
The hall ambience, the rich texture and reverberant decay, the depth of placement that is now revealed via standard CD has bolstered my confidence in the format beyond the expectations a more expensive player would have delivered--so much added value from the Omega mats and E cards-- and not done yet!
Early on in the TC thread, I talked about pasting the ten-dollar thrift store Kenwood CD player with excellent results. The naysayers jumped all over me for reporting what was true. Here are the facts: Using the combination of the Omega E Mats and the Total Contact will transform even less expensive equipment into something very musical and involving.
It's been almost 9 weeks since I placed sixteen mats in my system, and the sound is still improving. During this time, the only change I have made is to remove an HF MC-0.5 a couple weeks ago (Big improvement!). Before the mats, I treated the whole system pretty thoroughly with TC. To say that I am extremely pleased with how the mats, and TC, have improved the sound, along with increasing my enjoyment of music, feels like an understatement.
So, can you tell us a little more, you know, maybe try to describe the sound now compared to how it was before you treated everything? Go into as much detail as you can.
I could tick off all the usual audiophile checkboxes, but the main thing for me is that all the various types of music I enjoy are more engaging, involving, dynamic, lifelike, and natural sounding.
