New Tweak --- Its Fantastic
And I thought a trigger warning would suffice in an effort to shelter the sensitive among us. My little blurbs of dissent (tempered with what perhaps only I find humorous…I try) regarding overselling faith based tweaks will only be encouraged by any attempt to stifle them. I guess that statement requires another trigger warning…Also Fleshler writes: "The audiogon forum moderator has been notified concerning trolls on this and other forums; in particular, Wolf_Garcia." I can only imagine how THAT complaint went, "Moderators, somebody keeps disagreeing with me and it makes me all upset!" Threats now? How tentative (or genuine?) is one's faith in in their opinion that a tweak has legs would feel threatened by my posts? Is there some commercial component at play here? In any case, for those who feel harmed by anything I've said, I suggest you meditate quietly by a Mpingo disc or magic hat rack and repeat quietly, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and darn it, people like me." |
Anybody with a little TC left after use I will purchase. I only need a teeny tiny smidgen. I have very few connections, you know, what with the battery powered portable system. No power cords, no ICs, blah blah. The batteries, that’s about it. Yes, I know the batteries need to be replaced before the stuff has broken in. 😃 I also need a teeny tiny bit of TC for my new LG video system power cords. I suppose I could scrape some Graphene off my Head Graphene tennis racket....😳 |
gpgr4blu ... You'll have it soon. Tim is trying to mail out the same day he receives the order. He's only a block away from the post office. The spade connections are a good place to start .... audible improvement too. The more connections you paste with TC the more improvement will be realized. I did my entire system all at once, but it would be interesting to hear your progress as each portion is pasted. Like spade connectors first, then evaluate. IC's next, then evaluate. PC's after that, then evaluate. Fuse ends, then evaluate. Etc, etc, etc ... Please post your results here. Thanks ... Frank PS: I was up until 2am this morning listening to my stereo system. Steve Fleschler tells me he's doing the same. Steve has hit the four-week point with about half of his treatment. The other half is freshly applied. Hard to pull yourself away from the music once that four-week point is reached. |
Side note: For those with headphone systems ... TC can be used on the headphone plugs to good effect. I’ve done my headphones (Grado RS-1’s) , the little Audio Engine DAC, the connection to the computer screen and the computer’s PC. Spotify sounds really good. Picture quality is improved also. Russian car crashes have more impact. :-) Frank |

Wolf and randy, while I was and am sceptical that this tweak can live up to the hyperbole, I have to say that now that it is available for sale it sounds a bit ignorant to constantly berate a product you obviously have no intention of buying. It was one thing to take shots at a phantom, vaporware product. That was entertaining! But now that it is “out there”, it just comes off as, well... small, to take shots at it without hearing it. Especially when there have been no negative reviews, just positive. All that said, I did follow the SR fuse threads and bought a couple of blacks and several blues. And did I think they made a big difference? No, subtle at best, if at all. (Not making any friends here, am I?). But I can comment based on experience, which is not what you are doing. Since I just never learn, and let’s face it, even though this price would be ridiculous to anyone at my office who does not share this crazy spending hobby, I will likely buy this because I just want to know if it can really be “all that”. And before you ask who made me moderator, it was my daughter. |
1. Over the years I've used Deoxit to clean connectors, and then coated them with Pro Gold. Not relevant at all. Total Contact is in a different league and serves a different purpose. 2. Tweak? I think that product has pretty well been debunked in this thread. 3. Unplugged and re-plugged? Nope ... apples and oranges. 4. Over the years I've tried varied contact enhancers. None have come close to what TC does for SQ. The product is being delivered. The member reviews will be forthcoming. We shall see what we shall see. Frank |

randy-11, [ dupethought, i don’t usually try to teach electronics on the internet nice try at changing the question tho] And again, what "question"? You don’t seem to be able to differentiate a statement from a question. Perhaps if you phrased your posts in the form of actual questions, you might have a better chance of getting answers. But that of course assumes that are seeking answers or knowledge which clearly you are not. |

dbarger Oh, ok Geoff. Thanks for straightening me out on that. I just started this audio thing 40 years ago... I depend on wise people like yourself to tell me what I hear. >>>>>That probably explains why all the old timers in the hobby have such fabulous sounding systems, because of their superior experience and knowledge. Cough, cough |
The degree that interconnects lose their ability to conduct signal by unplugging them and plugging them back in would be laughably tiny, if it exists at all. Statement of absolutes by Geoffkaitty are often amusing and generally wrong, and although I clean the contacts if I feel like it from time to time (remember "Tweak" contact cleaner? I found what's left of a bottle of that recently having, like pretty much everyone else, forgot about it.) I simply don't feel like things aren't contacting enough, because logic indicates they're fine. This entire issue seems like a problem has been invented where none really existed. Like fuses…when did somebody decide fuses were improveable? Exactly when somebody realized there's gold in them there hills, and a pile of nonsense could be put out there to help dig into the pockets of the gullible. |
^^^ Does Tweak, or pulling the contacts in and out do anything to eliminate micro arcing in the connections? I don't think so, but perhaps the few "scientists" contributing to the thread can chime in here. Also, good after market fuses can be tested by ear. Honestly, I can't for the life of me understand why anyone with a high resolution audio system can't hear the improvements made by these two "tweaks," the SR Blue fuses and Tim Mrock's "Constant Contact." They have brought my audio system to an entirely new level of resolution. Again, I don't need to understand "why," they just "do." Frank |
Tim, Obviously, I got the TC today. I was trying to decide what to treat first, and settled on the MC-0.5 that is plugged into the wall outlet that feeds my system. I wasn’t really expecting to hear much right away, but after it settled in for a bit...Made me wonder if there's some kind of special synergy going on? I'm being cautious here, but, if what I'm hearing now from treating that one connection continues, never mind about 4 weeks, or 8 weeks, that's worth the price to me right there. |
Any contact treated and in any place you can see to reach makes for a difference. I treated all the magnets not fuses in my system and that even made for a difference especially after a couple of days of use. I treated the cheap stock glass fuses in a friends speakers only, and we were both surprised by the immediate difference and improvement heard..even more again the next day. Just wait for the improvements that will come to be when you go internal with this product..My system is now like swimming with the fishes. That reminds me I must play Zappa's Yellow Shark. Tom |

Thank you Frank for bringing this new tweak to our attention. It is sad to see so many negative comments from the audio community about this new product. If it works as described it is well worth it. I will be purchasing this product in their near future. I would like to know how to remove it if I do not like it. Can I use denatured alcohol to remove it? My ears will tell me more about the product than a white paper. To those that seem to be so negative, please remember the following: Speak not to offend Listen not to defend Respectfully Joe |
^^^ Thank you Joe. Good advice to all. The product is easily removed at any stage with alcohol and a cotton swab or a Q-tip. I was listening to a few of my lesser played Harmonia Mundi recordings early this morning. I've really never been able to get into the Madrigals ... but this morning, the voices were so distinct and pleasurable. Usually, I find them to be boring. The Total Contact has changed all of that. When you purchase Total Contact, please post your experiences and results here. Thanks again ... Frank |
Shadorne, I realise your remark was meant to be a clever quip but they might come back to embarrass you years down the track. Yes, Graphene REALLY is "the most amazing technology". https://www.businessinsider.com.au/graphene-applications-2014-6?r=US&IR=T This article was written in 2014 so you guys that are poo-pooing Graphene had better catch up with reality. LOL. |
One might get the impression from reading this thread that you'll only hear slight improvement after first applying Total Contact, and will have to wait 4 or 8 weeks to hear any substantial difference. I can't yet speak to what happens after the 4th and 8th weeks, but I can tell you that what I'm hearing, after treating just two AC plugs in my system, is worth the full price to me. |
Ka-Ching! I'd like a report on sales of this stuff after 4 or 8 weeks as I'm planning to hype a tweak soon to cash in on the "post many paragraphs of hyperbole and SELL SELL SELL" phenomena. It's legal, nobody minds a scam in the name of "More Hifi Hifi," and hey…shameless promotion of anything that claims to make electric current happier is all good for the Faithful, as long as the word "quantum" is included. |
