I am taking a survey

If you have the time, please rate the following music from 1 to 5 where 1 is incredible and 5 is rubbish.

All I ask however is that you please listen all the way to the end AND give it your full attention before you cast your vote.  It is only 4.5 minutes long.

Thanks

They are interesting musical suggestions though....Especially the second one in the two above...

Thanks....

Thanks Cakyol....

I like all eastern music...But in general i prefer it at his purest, with the less European influence possible...

😁😊

@mahgister

You may also enjoy these tv series musics, they have a strong eastern influence:

i can even translate the music in words expressing a moment or an internal history:

00....> 29 sec : a feeling of expectation and silent reflection about an event is evoked.

29sec....> 1m15: an interrogative but consoling internal word or discourse about this event emerge...

1m15.....> 2m52 a distant sadness in itself accompanies the thought that is repeated and raised again like an insistent letmotiv that repeats the same event, without being able to do anything about it...

and the question why? how could it be? suddenly emerge at 2m 52 with drum...

2m52....> 4m 24 but consolation and hope finally walk also hand in hand because of the acceptation of the despair and of the irrevocable until their final merging agreement that concludes in the last chord...

Good music film then where esthetic serve only a story....It is less about our taste than about the question: is the music tell a story that stir emotions effectively in a simple direct way ?

Yes....

Is it the best music film ever?

No....

Is the composer know his craft?

Yes....

It is a film music, just to remind this...😉

This composer dont compete with Bruckner symphonies in 4 minutes nor with an Indian raga...

But with music film competition ...I score it 1 or 2

In the very good music film themas  with dont need visual, the music motives  are the visual and speak and tell a story even in 4 minutes ( beginng, middle, end)....

Anyway i see as much as i hear in any music piece save the one where there is only "a beat"....Or too much noise....

😁😊

1: very good and efficient to create the basic emotion and support the story

2 :good

3: just acceptable

4: bad

5 : a disaster

I'll only say that it possibly ranks among the top 325 psychopathic mother themes. Possibly.

4.

I found the very beginning promising with the dark suspension in the cellos.

Almost immediately the combination of trite harmonic structure and insipid woodwind melody all but vaporized whatever gravitas the introduction implied.

By the time the piece reached cruising altitude, it was as limp as a wet noodle.

When the timpani/cymbal swell occurred two thirds of the way through, I had decisively returned my billfold to my back pocket.

Lush and romantic,  but not too much in the way of original themes or leitmotifs. Not Shore, not Devs, but a solid 3. Thanks for sharing.

A solid 3.5 for me lovely piece of music just not really my style but I can certainly appreciate that it's well done.

It doesn’t move me, but perhaps I would like it more if it were accompanied by the visuals.

For example the somewhat tedious soundtrack to the movie "Tess" (when listened to sans the movie) becomes breathtaking, on a whole, while watching the movie on a large screen in a good theatre.

This said, I do enjoy the soundtrack to "Angela’s Ashes" played on my stereo alone.

Edit:  Just realized that the A A's soundtrack was by John Williams (not a subtle composer, IMO) so maybe that's why it stands well alone.

I did search for a hardcopy of the book translated to English, but could not find one (just some sound files).

Now I am interested in the book - thanks for the post.

Thanks for your voting. Yes it is a Turkish series I have discovered recently which is very interesting. It is about a beautiful young woman and her chilling almost psychopathic mother. And the acting is beyond superb with very striking music.

It is a film soundtrack so well written i want to see the film...

It is not Beethoven nor Bruckner... 😁

😊

But who can rival them ?

It is very talented composer... A Turkisch ... I give him 1 in the film category music...I would have given him 2 if i was comparing his soundtrack to the best ever in Hollywood for example...But i give it 1 for the pleasure to listen to it without any comparison trial in mind....

The rythm and melody reproduce very well the increased movement of a drama...

I cannot give to him less than the score i will give to any great cinema music...(1 or 2)

I will listen more...But i am very interested to see the film or series drama...

Thanks....

I will reserve the score 5 for most rap and heavy metal or bad rock and bad pop( most rock)...

I listen mostly classical, jazz, Persian and Indian music my favorite, but also Turkisch sufi music and chinese also ....

( i belong to the Bach religion, everything ever written is under his music revelation, save the gong music sound which is on par with Bach to awake the spirit😁😊 )

( by the way gong is a very good audio test for an audio system)
