Buying Used Speakers
Echo and TMR are great people. Have done many transactions with echo for over 29 years, I’ve done more with TMR in the last 5 years. Echo does have their biases toward there new products, TMR is more neutral.  I always go listen to the speakers if...
Napping while listening
I retired early when I became financial free of all debt and able to make way more money retired than when working. Should have retired even earlier, you only live once, enjoy it. if I wake up early and can’t go to sleep, I’ll turn on some tunes ...
The time has come and I request advice...
I have the ps audio airlens. Best streamer that I have heard/owned. Using i2s to my ps audio DS sr dac using the revelation audio labs prophecy i2s cable.
A quick question on what streamers to consider.......
When I auditioned servers/streamers years ago, Aurender was a distant 3rd compared to Auralic and Lumin. Aurender software is pretty bad too compared to Lightning DS or Roon. Today, the best streamer that I have heard is the ps audio airlens. Mos...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
I don’t care about measurements, nor do I care about reviewers opinions, I use my ears. I do look at specs from the vendor and it’s me that determines if theirs synergy amongst the pieces.  I’m glad that these 4 guys came out with this YouTube vid...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
When you go to an audio show, you better bring your “A” game, no excuses. You are saying that if something sounds bad, it’s not the fault of the product?  I also want to bring up the multiple reviews done by other audio reviewers that actually te...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
You go out of the country for a while without internet and people ask where is the OP. What else is there to say? You have a magazine that would probably still give the Bose 901’s an A rating because they never say anything negative about a compo...
Audiophile junkie - awesome vid about NYC million dollar system today
They did a nice job of building everything into the cabinet, nice woodwork, nice gear. But that’s all that’s nice. I grew up with my parents having the old Altec voice of the theater speaker system, which at the time sounded nice, but they also h...
Are there other people like me ? Amazed by their low cost system :)
I have a couple of cheap systems that cost around $5000 each. They sound good, but they don’t come close in sound quality to my dedicated system where my cables alone cost more than my own her systems. IMO, the op created this post only to hear h...
Network Acoustics Products?
It’s funny audiotroy has the right product for each problem. I thought audio dealers were not allowed to sell f on the forums.
New Streamer, DAC or Let it Be
The marantz is the weak link in your system. I’m guessing that your room is also going to be a weak link. There is an easy fix and I’m surprised that a dealer with 40 years experience didn’t state this (actually I’m not because they mostly want to...
OCD mickey website and negativity.
I think he is a joke. He’s got the hand signal for his tribe (followers), kind of childish. He’s against most brick and mortar audio stores but turns around and does the same thing he complains about. Unless you buy from him, everything else is cr...
Comparing Legacy Focus snd PS Audio FR20
Hands down the FR20’s. Have you heard them? Have you heard the FR30’s? They are giant killers. If you want a speaker that blows away any Legacy speaker that I have heard, and that is a used pair of Revel Salons 2 for around $10,000 or the Revel St...
Please be gentle with me! 🙏
Nobody knows what a streamer is or what it can do or can’t  do. What’s the difference between a server and a streamer? Isn’t a streamer a computer running some OS? Or do you call a computer running an OS a server?  Can a streamer read ripped song...
The $10,000 Question
If you like tubes, try the rogue Cronus magnum with kt120 tubes. For speakers, focals have no lower bass, sound thin to me until you get into the utopia range. You can get by with thinner sounding speakers with tubes amps
