Holo Audio May / please help

I have a set of RevOpod footers that I would like to move to my Holo Audo May DAC.  The footers are said to work best when the OEM footers are removed and replaced  with the RevOpods, screwed directly into the the bottom if the DAC chassis.

I began the footer swap process, taking out the screw in the bottom of the OEM Holo footer but the old footers were still stuck fast even after removing the screw in the bottom of the footer.  Strange.

My question is:  Has anyone has experience with this? Are the OEM footers glued/adhered to the bottom of the chassis or perhaps are the footers secondarily screwed fast from the inside of the chassis making them unremovable from the outside?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Holo Audio doesn't want you fooling with their footers so they are glued to the chassis.

Why are you doing this? What do you want to achieve taking out manufacturer's own realized design?

Said to work best doing what?

@jasonbourne71 + 1 - I've got a Holo May KTE and would never even think about doing anything like that to it.

Step a) Return Revopod and get money back.

Step b) Get these 30 durometer sorbothane pucks from amazon for 15 dollars.

Step c) Set May dac atop these pucks gently.

Good luck.

Picked up an oak branch in the yard, and turned some footers for ventilation. This was done on my old lathe, now have a Laguna REVO 18/36. I drilled some recesses into the top with a Fostner bit, so the OEM feet were left in place.

How does it sound now? "The raisers imbue the soundscape a novel majestic grandeur. The highs soar to new climaxes, the mids have a fullness of oak barrel aged whiskey, while the lows reach deep into the earth for grounding. Jitter is further reduced by the organic resilience of the open grain of the California oak." — LOL! 🤣 Nope, sounds exactly the same. Maybe I had a bit too much rosé. Notice the wine stopper with a piece of vinyl LP. Vinyl art. No worries, only an unplayably warped LP was upcycled.

P.S. Tried to insert some pictures, but does not work when posted. Hmmm. Anyway, the feet may be visible on my system images. Also in an insta post:

Disappointing responses, mostly unconstructive and some just plain condescending.  It's clear that I've only gotten responses from shallow water fishermen.  I'll move on and talk with the guys with the big fishing poles and big boats.

The shallow water fisherman catch as many fish as the folks with big poles and big boats. One thing both have in common is going by the Holo bait shop to get in the know information.

We should mount the RevOpod footers on jasonbourne. We will see a few weeks of silence in the forums as he learns to walk on delrin balls.

as to your question @rick_n you can try a fishing line (while we’re on the subject) and “dental floss” it between the footer and the chassis to see if there’s anything else that’s holding it. You might even be able to cut through the adhesive that way if that’s what was used to secure the holo feet.

His May needed all the isolation support she could get @jasonbourne71

Here’s a real test from

He could have acheived an effective solution with low durometer Sorbothane on the cheap, but, unfortunately decided to multilate poor lil May’s feet with his Revopod fascination (killed some resale value with the nitpicky audiophiles)
