Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

Longmont man accused of charity fraud

By Scott Rochat
© 2010 Longmont Times-Call

A grand jury has indicted 53-year-old Mark L. Schifter of Longmont on suspicion of stealing $180,034 through a charity fraud.

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced the indictment Friday. He said the grand jury accused Schifter of running 27 illegal charity raffles online at his company's main Web site, www.AV123.com, and then keeping most of the money for himself.

"Of that amount, only $29,500 was ever given to the ostensible recipients of the donated raffle money," the grand jury said in its indictment. "Many charities that Mark Schifter said would receive large amounts of donations from his raffles, in fact, received nothing."

Schifter heads Perpetual Technologies, a company that sells high-end audio equipment. According to the indictment, he is believed to have run the raffles between Oct. 18, 2004, and Aug. 25, 2009, through an online forum at the AV123 site. At one point, the indictment said, he even set up a PayPal account to make it easier to donate.

Each raffle included an expensive piece of audio equipment as a prize, the indictment said, as well as an emotional appeal for help written by Schifter.

"The scam not only defrauded Colorado consumers, but it also preyed on their generosity," Suthers said in a statement Friday.

A total of 707 people from across the United States gave to the raffles, Suthers said. The causes promoted by the raffles included the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Children's Hospital of Denver, Russian orphanages, the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina, according to the indictment.

Schifter ran each raffle without a license and without permission to use the names of the charities, the indictment claims.

"In fact, most of the organizations were unaware that a so-called raffle was being held to benefit them," the grand jury said in its indictment.

The grand jury indicted Schifter on five counts, consisting of:

• Theft of $20,000 or more.

• Committing a computer crime to scheme or defraud $20,000 or more.

• Violating raffle law by failing to get a charitable gaming license.

• Charitable fraud.

• Use of an organization's name without authorization in connection with a charitable fraud.

Suthers said his office worked with the Longmont Police Department to get the indictment.

Suthers also said that those wanting to investigate a Colorado charity can go online to www.checkthecharity.org.

Charities also can be checked out through the Boulder/Denver office of the Better Business Bureau at www.denver.bbb.org/charity.

Longmont man sentenced to 20 years probation for illegal charity rafflesBy Vanessa Miller, Camera staff writerPOSTED:   10/15/2010 08:34:37 AM MDTUPDATED:   10/15/2010 01:09:23 PM MDT
A 54-year-old Longmont man has been sentenced to 20 years of probation and two years of work release for defrauding Colorado residents through fraudulent charity raffles.

Mark L. Schifter also will be required to pay $110,000 in restitution to his victims, according to Colorado Attorney General John Suthers.

Schifter used his two companies — www.AV123.com and Perpetual Technologies — to post information online about 27 illegal charity raffles between October 2004 and August 2009, according to his indictment. He would offer desirable stereo equipment as prizes and write emotional appeals for charities ranging from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to the American Red Cross to the Children's Hospital of Denver.

He would occasionally solicit donations for real people who were actually sick, according to the indictment.

The indictment says he didn't get permission from the charities to run the raffles in their names, and most of the organizations were unaware the raffles were ever held.

During the five-year period, Schifter stole nearly $180,000 from 707 victims using the fraudulent raffles. Many of the charities advertised as benefactors of the online games received no money, according to the indictment.

Investigators from the Office of the Attorney General partnered with Longmont police to obtain the indictment.

AV123.com’s Mark Schifter Indicted in Colorado For Alleged Charity Fraud

A local Colorado new website, TimesCall.com, is reporting that AV123.com’s Mark Schifter has just been indicted by a grand jury for up to 27 counts of misappropriating raffle money. The raffles were supposedly designed to benefit charities including the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Children’s Hospital of Denver, Russian orphanages, the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. The indictment reportedly states that Schifter had no license and or the permission of each of the charities. Many of the charities report that they never received the money from the raffle events.

Mr. Schifter faces five counts including: Theft of $20,000 or more, Committing a computer crime to scheme or defraud $20,000 or more, Violating raffle law by failing to get a charitable gaming license, Charitable fraud and Use of an organization’s name without authorization in connection with a charitable fraud.

In America we all are innocent until proven guilty yet even with that protection in place, there are many in the AV industry who are not surprised that "Shifty Schifter" is in trouble with the law. His success with Genesis Loudspeakers and Audio Alchemy in the 1990s are well documented. Schifter also went on to be an early player in the outsourcing of loudspeaker manufacturing to China as well as the online sale of speakers directly to the customer. Paired with his successes comes a laundry list of industry enemies who remember the questionable business practices, broken promises and breached contracts. Schifter is famous for saying "if you don’t like it - sue me." Now it looks like the Colorado Attorney General is taking him up on the offer with some very serious allegations. Allegations that come months after Schifter is recovering from heart ailments say one contact close to Schifter.

@klh007  Ah , you're back. You might have overlooked the question, are you running the daily operations at CPT as of recently, as Mark stated?
I finally heard from Mark, he will be posting tomorrow with news and updates.

Dear Audiogon Friends,

Today I am back at my desk and actually getting some work done.

As in the recent past I’m going to attempt to be very brief here and try to keep everything as professional and unemotional as possible.

I understand clearly that my inability to “present” on a daily basis has caused upset and uncertainty in places. The good news is I am on a Migraine Med that doesn’t interfere with my Parkinson’s Med so I can once again watch TV and sit in front of my computer monitor and work. My typing is slow – but my willingness is there to proceed.

We will have a major announcement for everyone next week about my go-forward and the company go-forward as well. I will not be in the daily drivers seat but here to help in every way. Production will be taken over shortly – and we will be in a place that makes better sense to all of us as I move through my medical issues.

In the meantime – if anyone has anything they need or desire please e-mail me (or call/text)… I will be back to you in 24 hours latest (which over the last 8 weeks simply wasn’t possible)…

corepowertech@outlook.com

303.594.7586

Deep Core will see the light of day in a few days now that the team is back from Munich and I’m able to participate as well. I’m especially grateful for this.

I certainly wish to thank many of you that have been more than patient and kind to me – much appreciated beyond words. I will do my best to be here as often as I can. I will be getting the new blood up to speed over the next few weeks. Friends and Faces that you all know and trust.

Wishing everyone the best…

Mark

Greetings All

Sadly – I will be unable to attend the Axpona Show coming up this Friday.

I know that these threads do not belong to me in any way – and in keeping with my “less is more” approach now, I will only say this. I’ve had two major health issues come up that will keep me from flying. These are both major events in my life and I’ve decided to follow Doctor’s strict orders and stay home.

If you desire more information – I’m always here for you.

303.594.7586

corepowertech@outlook.com

All orders are being filled timely and we will have further announcements post-show. Now is not the time or place.

Deep Core is shipping here shortly – units have been ready for days – but Doug has ordered that Production ship with an even larger heat-sink stack. Deep Core is ready for Prime Time.

Best wishes to all of you

Mark

Morning Mark,

Glad to see you getting better.

When you get a chance, drop me a line re CPT outside of NA.

Thanks,

Hugh

Good Day All,

I’ve not posted a great deal recently as I’ve wanted to simply let the new Deep Core v3 do the talking. We have sent the final unit to Doug for approval which he will receive tomorrow as I understand it. Once Doug has approved we will re-send the beta units and immediately after that… those on back order.

The new v3 has quietly been through quite a bit of testing in California – we even had it running 1500 watt heat shrink guns for hours on end. These units draw 1500 watts and are about as miserable a load as possibly created.

I’m not at home at the moment and on my desktop, but when I do get home I will post tiny URL’s for everything I’m mentioning now in this post. I’ve had spend a lot of time dealing with health matters over these last few weeks and things are in reasonably good order (finally). I realize clearly that this is not the time of place to discuss matters like these ion any kind of detail.

I also want to send a special thanks to those that have sent mail to “check in”. I had some old Infinity Pals send notes to remind me how difficult some of the products we’ve worked on over the years that took time and money never expected. I appreciate those memories – and they brought me to a time and place working with Arnie (Nudell) over the years I spent with him from a lad of 15. Arnie was a GREAT Mentor and now that he’s past I appreciate his memory as one of honor and blessing. How lucky I was/am to have worked with him and later at Genesis with Arnie and Paul (McGowan) — great partners and even greater friends. I’ve shared some very emotional notes with Paulie lately that brought me to delighted tears.

I guess I needed to re-hear a few of those memories to remind me how much I enjoy the development process. I also needed to hear how many might not enjoy hearing the gory details moment by moment. Thank You AM for reminding me of that.

Glad to report that the new EQUI=CORE 600 will make its way out in the next few weeks. This is a 600 watt Balanced / Isolated AC Power Source that sits in the same case as Deep Core. Probable retail just under 1K dollars. I am shipping my sample to a new friend today – but it’s worked perfectly in my system for weeks under heavy work load. Pictures to follow. The DC v3 and the E=C 600 will be a great Dynamic Duo well under 2K retail when they are all shipping.

I am very happy to report that old orders to Singapore and Hong Kong are leaving here shortly with great appreciation and thanks. In many cases people were waiting for upgraded kit and new products. I’ve been shown great kindness from these folks. Thank You.

We have more 1800’s leaving for Australia and The Netherlands through the week. I really love exporting our products and these are welcome additions. I love chatting with these folks after they’ve had our 1800’s in their systems for a few weeks. We are slowly making waves outside of the US.

The new Ground Zero is also done – and that sample left for Doug as well. This will debut later in the year (maybe late May) and we are all excited about this one as well.

I’ve missed being here – but I’m also glad to being following the advice of others – go slow and get it right. No more Open Beta and just keep on keeping on here. I’m in quiet mode for sure.

I am enjoying reading about modified units and more from these threads. I’ve had trouble staying in front of my computer screen(s) of late – but I am hopeful to have more time to post relevant answers and information. This is however not MY THREAD (or Core Power’s)… but instead yours. SS

Very best wishes to all,

Mark

Dear Friends

I’ve been in quiet mode for the last 10 days now while several things were/are going on.

I had several poor health days resulting in forced quiet time during this period. Better today at last. I’ve tried to keep up with orders/shipments etc. and we have tons of product leaving for overseas during this last week and this week as well. Lots of domestic also.

Deep Core v3 is being made now – samples first to D Goldberg and the RF Crew and then to our beta team and onward to backlog. I’ve heard nothing but positive comments.

All refunds have been processed by now – except for two new ones.

Contacting me for several of these days was difficult as I changed phones and providers. Plus, we needed to reconnect Google Voice and You Mail – everything back to working solid.

If you are interested, I can be contacted by any one of these means – they are

By phone 303.594.7586

By Text as above (my favorite as it creates a memory path 😊)

By e-mail corepowertech@outlook.com

By backup phone 303.928.4434

In Emergency – by home phone (we do work out of our home) 720.213.4551

I will do my utmost to be back to right away.

We are prepping for Unit One (pictures to follow) of Ground Zero – looking good.

Deeper discussion of Equi=Core 600 which is also making its way out of the birth canal. Matches perfectly with Deep Core v3 in size shape and performance.

More to follow. This is really my first keyboard day back. I’m going through mail etc. now.

Thanks for all the nice calls and messages.

Best wishes,

Mark

PS - one of you left a message on my old phone (720.317.9141) - just saw this - thanks...

Well - in the midst of all of everything this lovely gen just arrived late last night from Marcus at Headphonics - super proud of this...

Best wishes to everyone here -

Mark and Lynn
As mentioned in earlier posts - we are in-process on a new hire for the Sales and Marketing side of the business -

I had promised accounting changes and as of today we will no longer charge cards until the shipment has been made and the Tracking Information has been provided. We will then charge the card.

Many thanks

Mark
Good Morning Yet Again

Sadly - I became a victim of Identity Theft by a dear friend of mine that went off the rails. My Sprint phone under our shared account has become a victim too...

I'm now with Verizon (much better here in Broomfield CO) and my new number is as stated elsewhere

303.594.7586

Anyone needs to reach me - please use that number.

Thank You

Mark
On a very positive note - I'm so very pleased to report that we've made Publisher's Choice - and Most Wanted Component from Stereo Times here just recently -

Thank you GV...

Link here... http://v2.stereotimes.com/post/mw-2017b

Quoted from their site -

Core Power Technologies EQUI=CORE1800 ($1799.00 reviewed here): My enthusiasm for Core Power Technology’s EQUI=CORE 300 prompted me to recommend it previously as a Most Wanted Component and that enthusiasm now extends to their EQUI=CORE 1800. The 1800 betters the 300 by providing greater balanced power to handle more devices with its built-in 8 receptacle inputs. –I currently have all my main rig plugged into it… and that includes a pair of PS Audio Stellar M700 350 watt mono blocks currently under review. The 1800 handles it all without strain, overload or compression and I’ve experienced no constriction in dynamics. The EQUI=CORE 1800 comes highly recommended. (Greg Voth)

Thank you GV...

Mark,

You're welcome!

😂 I agree with him, but know you released the conditioners in the right order.

That's a great deal on the Super Stroke for DC owners! Hopefully you don't mind me posting it in the other thread, because I am going to. 🙂
@dorkwad

Always enjoy chatting with you sir. Lynn likes your style too... :)

Let us know if we can help - we appreciate your buddy too that turned you on to us.

@lak

As always... thank you...

@sadono - what can I say except thanks... sincerely appreciated you help here. I do have a review from one of my Rabbis and Priests of DC but as he will not go on forums at all I hesitate to post it. He is not the kindest personality - so some of his thoughts can (and do) sting me a bit... but this is all part of life for me. The biggest ouch was his comment about not doing Deep Core FIRST - he sorta made it hurt.

As more Deep Cores are being prepped now for shipment. Please note that we do NOT include Super Stroke with this product. You can add SS for $79 dollars (we think this is a bargain)...

As well - you will see three of our Isolation Pucks. Enjoy them

Thanks all,

Mark

doekwad, originally is my second system (easier to get to the equipment to make changes) I ran the amp from a dedicated wall outlet and the CPT-300 from a separate dedicated AC wall outlet to a high-quality power strip that fed my Preamp, Transport, Dac, and FM tuner. I was happy with that setup. Please post the results when you try the 1200.

Thanks lak,

I have a friend who owns a CPT-1200 and is going to bring it over to listen soon.  He's been telling me the same thing for awhile.  If that makes as big a difference as the CPT-150 did on the DUDE, I may be convinced.

I haven't had much success with power conditioners as I've had about 5 in my systems over the years.  I really didn't like 4 of them as they took the life out of the music, but the Audio Magic Stealth XXX at least sounded as good as having no conditioning.  I sold it as the power strips I use had the same warranty on stuff plugged into them, so why use a conditioner.  Apparently, the power in my area is pretty good.  I have three dedicated 20 amp circuits that run to my room.

On the other hand, the CPT-150 made the sound so good, I was really surprised at the result.  I also use Maestro outlets in the wall and the CPT-300 on all my front end equipment.
@dorkwad I looked at your system posted on Audiogon, very nice!
I'm not totally familiar with all the equipment you listed, are you using some type of power conditioning for your system?
The reason I ask is because, in my opinion, your Dude preamp has improved because of the balanced power produced by the CPT-150.
You might want to consider purchasing a CPT Equi=Core 1200 or 1800 (which is a balanced power supply) and running your choice of standard power cords that you already have to the rest of your equipment. The positive results may surprise you.
@dorkwad

Humble thanks from your friends here in CO...

We are proud of these products and glad you have an addition to your "family" there.

Best wishes -

Mark
I recently added a CPT-150 to power the TRL DUDE preamp.  It made a tremendous difference in sound over the TRL cord I used previously and the WyWires Juice II cord before that.  The TRL cord adds some organic sound and a little more grunt to the bass than the Juice II.  The CPT-150 however, caused a quantum leap in the sound to my system.  On every CD and record I play now, there is a distinct improvement in all areas of sound.  The bass is now outrageously good in all ways--deeper, more dynamic, detailed, and the rest of the range is equal to the bass.  EVERYTHING sounds so real and more beautiful at the same time.  My speakers are VMPS RM40 BCSE and are very detailed, dynamic, and now organic with rich overtones.  It is very hard to go to bed at night.

I must add, Bob Smith at TDSS put in his Level 3 upgrades into my Nuforce Ref 9 SE V3 monos about 2 months ago, and I've added 5 SR Blue fuses to my Modwright 5400, Whest 3.0 RDT SE phono, and Ref 9s.  The TDSS mod made a great difference in sound also, along with the Blue fuses making a nice improvement.  I think the biggest change for the better came with the CPT-150 used with the DUDE.  I already have a CPT-300 powering all my front end stuff with the assistance of a Synergistic Research QLS-6 power strip.  Part of this last improvement has to be the amps breaking in finally from Bob's upgrades.
@pcrhkr - your question is important - and I want to answer it here and on the other thread as well...

In my humble opinion the Tripp Lite product is a good one for "protection" if you live in an area that is prone to lightning strikes etc. I would maybe even own one...

This is not a product that is going to improve your AC Mains - we make claim over Common Mode Noise etc and our EQUI=CORE products do a wonderful job of LOWERING NOISE. In fact - they are quite good at this...

Lower Noise = Much Better OVERALL Sound. Quieter and "Blacker" backgrounds can be had which lends to a really nice sonic effect.

I also might like the 2400 for EMI/RFI Protection. This is really important.

Is the 2400 a real Line Conditioner... I'm not sure I would give it that moniker - I might call it a nice Line Monitor.

Is the suppression aspects of this product is done in the way I've seen it done before - then I might conclude that we might lose Bass Drive and Pace as well as we might get a smearing effect.

(warning - I do not know this as factual with respect to the 2400)...

YMMV -

You can always try an 1800 with our 60 day return gurantee. Nothing like trying this in your own system to know for a fact what helps and what hurts...

If you'd like to discuss this off-line I can be easily reached at:

corepowertech@outlook.com

or

720.317.9141

Here to help and you will not be pressured at all...

Best always...

Mark
Why would core power technology be any better than a 2400w Tripp Lite power conditioner?  DC current will not pass through an isolation transformer.  This device also monitors and adjusts for low voltage down to 89V and over voltage up to 149v.  It also filters high frequencies, line spikes.  This is about a $225.00 product that seems good and cost effective.

A few Notes from Core Power Tech

Happy Holidays…

I wanted to quickly post some thoughts from Broomfield, CO. Today has been a beautiful day here with orders shipping and my house humming with the sights and sounds of The Holidays. I had calls and messages from customers all over the world. Believe me – it made this day livable for me after a horrible Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

So, this was really my first day back. I “lost” these last several days to a dear friend who tried to take his life after being found out to suffer from a very serious addiction (gambling) that almost cost him his life and cost several families an enormous amount of money (my family included). That’s only money… but what I learned in these last few days is the meaning of life goes far beyond what we can imagine in our brightest moment of our worst. Day to day gives life meaning.

Many of you are reading this and saying to themselves “who cares” – ship my Deep Cores and forget this other babble. When you are a small company, EVERY change in a day modifies your plan. Lynn and I were left with our plans changing by the moment. Kenny C almost killed himself. My faith was tested as was my own “recovery” which was began near to 35 years ago. Kenny reminded me of what really matters – LIFE!

As to Deep Core Doug is back home and he has released these units for shipment. Do I feel good about this – of course I do….. but I feel much better after seeing Kenny today and finding him immersed in his faith surrounded by his family. That’s my Christmas right there.

I’m very sorry that this taken so long and yet another “excuse”. My wife and I hurt when we read these threads – but we surely DO understand your frustration.

We have finally hired some help so that we can get to orders quicker and make life a little easier for my wife and for me. We suffer greatly when we let you down in any way. We are faith-filled people here – and we are also faithful suppliers of our wonderful products. This means everything to us.

I was going to post some get quotes about LIFE. I decided again it and I was just say TREASURE IT EVERY DAY – life can be cut short in just a millisecond.

Happy Holidays and may HIS Peace find YOUR HEART

To All Underwood Hifi Customers – My Apologies

Dear Friends-

I felt a few words were in order here. The most important words I can offer are these – I’M VERY SORRY FOR THE DELAYS IN YOUR SHIPMENTS. I can easily stop there – but I really wanted to get some further thoughts across.

Walter Liederman has been a close and dear friend for almost 4 decades. As many of you know – I have designed Walter’s Emerald Physics Loudspeakers for the last 6 plus years to serious accolades. This was done out of love and sincere respect for Walter. It was NOT DONE for money. Walter is a person that’s more like a Brother than a Partner in a Loudspeaker Company.

With “family” there are also issues. The line between Love and Hate is sometimes perilously thin. In my case with Walter this came into play during the last year of our 6 year run. My wife Lynn built every Emerald product by herself and saw to it these were “loved on” endlessly.

Of course, emotions came into play and sadly others suffered as a result of these emotions. For Walter it was cut and dry (ship my orders) and for Lynn and myself… other priorities sat at the top. As simple as that. We are “in-process” working thjose issues out.

Please accept my apologies – and please know that we sincerely appreciate your purchase and your support of our brand.

Thank you so very much – Happy Holidays.

Peace

You guys need to be more patient. Its not like we were told they were shipping 7 or 8 times. Geez
You know it's all Doug's fault. Mark said so. Doug lost big giant stamp of approval. It can't leave the factory without one. Mark said so.
What we need is an informant from inside the company to spill the beans to the Washington Post.
Everyday I look out my door for delivery of the Deep Core and all I see is tumble weeds... And I live in Michigan!
