Great Lost Lps...

Short list for lost lps:

Robert Palmer-(1974)Sneakin Sally through the Alley...with Little Feat as his backing band...this is a surprising, soulful, laid-back funk workout with great vocals...before Robert became a slick, polished, MTV cartoon...he was a respectable blue-eyed soul voice

Chicago Transit Authority-Great late 60s dbl psych lp with insane guitar work and grooves...

J.Geils-Monkey Island...often compared to Sticky Fingers...this is an old school R&B fest...

Wow, I like this thread. A miner's strike.

Roxy Music's first, self titled. Very creative, strange and cool. Doesn't hurt that first time I heard it (or of them) was live when they backed up Edger Winter's Frankenstein tour.

The Tubes "Remote Control" Produced by Todd Rundgren in 1979, the great tubes album.
Blkadr. I pulled the Jean-Luc Ponty- "Enigmatic Ocean" off the shelf and gave it a spin. Sounds good so far (side 1).

Spirit-"The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus"
Chicago Transit Authority
Boz Scaggs (self titled, 1969)

All 3!, heavy rotation back in the day & still check them out on a the rare day.

And off the top, how about:
Hawkwind
Rock 'n' Roll Animal - Reed, Wagner, & Hunter
Brian Auger's Oblivion Express
Opafire "Ricochet Sun"
buckingham and Nicks
Agree with Crack the sky--animal notes
Climax blues band
Pousette-Dart band--County line album
The Great Lost Kinks Album

Richard Thompson - Live (more or less) or guitar/vocal, toss up between the two.

Lou Reed - Take No Prisoners

Boz Scaggs (self titled, 1969)

Television - Marquee Moon
Sticking with some other 70s horn bands that I love to pull out:

1: Blood Sweat & Tears - pick from either "Child is Father to the Man" (this is their 1st LP before David Clayton Thomas joined the group and sang on their self-titleld Grammy award-winning 2nd LP) or "BS&T 3" the album right after that self titled LP.

2: Lighthouse - "One Fine Morning"

3. Buddy Miles - "Them Changes"

4. Cold Blood "Sysiphus" or "First Taste of Sin"

5. Tower of Power - "Back to Oakland" (OK I lied, I play this one all the time)
"Robert Palmer-(1974)Sneakin Sally through the Alley...with Little Feat as his backing band...this is a surprising, soulful, laid-back funk workout with great vocals"

Own the album AND CD, I totally agree, it's a great record BUT....The back-up band duties were actually split between Little Feat AND the Meters. Talk about a wealth of riches!
Spirit-"The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus"
Chic Corea-RTF "Magical Warrior"
Grover Washington- "A secret Place"
Gino Vanelli- "Storm at Sunrise"
rachael sweet-protect the innocent.....the records-crashes....any trouble-life in reverse
Crack the Sky - All their early LPs are excellent. The Beatles on Steroids

Iron Butterfly - 'Metamorphosis". Early Psych at its best

Average White Band - "Cut The Cake". This is their 2nd album which is as good or better then the 1st album

Great subject. You guys have given me a couple albums to pull out and try
