Just realized the Clear Beyond is on the DAC. N150 got a Clear. Noticeable improvement still.
Do fuses in Aurender n10 alter SQ?
Yes they do. I know that there is a continuing debate about all things tweaky but if I can hear it, it must be true. The proof is in the biased listening right? So it's proof positive...to me anyhow. The fuses delivered a nice sq bump.
BTW: Hi Fi Supremes
My advice then is to anyone running a decent streamer, try some audiophile fuses. Any small investment that nets an improvement is a good investment.

The N10 replaces an X100L. I've been really happy with the Aurender for both sq and ease of use. The upgrade is well worth the investment but the X100L is a terrific player too. I have a Shunyata Delta NR V2 on order, arriving next week but the N10 sounds pretty sweet with its stock cord. The Aurender line is a real winner in my opinion. I'm sure there are other really good choices out there and someone will always say x is better than y. But both the X100L and N!) are rock solid. |
oldhvymec Try VH Audio. Good service. |
For instance, if your large couch is leather or something else would alter the sound a whole lot more than imagining things about fuses. If your speakers and gear are all sorted out, try and focus on room acoustic treatments. It is a lengthy process of learning/tweaking (will cater to the tweaking mind) and gains can be significant. For anyone with a technical background, a discussion on audiophile fuses will be just plain obnoxious. |
Comparing fuses to placebos in medicine is one of the greatest farces the audio world has been subjected to. It's amazing how many have bought into that canard since it sounds so scientific. A placebo in medicine had no possible medicinal effect compared to the actual drug whereas two different fuses are, just that, two different fuses that both actually do what they're made for. It's just that one sounds better than the other. No biggie. All the best, Nonoise |
When I have a headache the blue sugar pill my doctor gives me makes it hurt less. The red sugar pill he gives me makes it worse. Sugar pills have no effect at all on headaches. I know that very well. But the thing is, the blue pill really makes the pain less and the red pill really does make the pain worse. What you are enjoying when fuse switching is psycho-acoustics. There is no measurable difference, but you hear an improvement. Always an improvement, notice. Any deliberate action intended to improve the sound will improve the sound. Switching the old fuse back in will inevitably make the sound worse. You can’t help yourself. Like we can’t help ourselves when we take a blue sugar pill. Even when we know a sugar pill doesn’t work. |
